Job summary

Zealant Consulting Group is seeking an SDET/QA Engineer to own quality across functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing, while building automated test coverage integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

You will create test plans, execute tests, and develop automated tests (UI/API) to ensure robust release quality. Strong knowledge of test design, Agile practices, and testing across web/mobile apps is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong test design skills: creating test cases, scenarios, and data.
• Functional, regression, integration, and (ideally) performance/security testing.
• Experience testing web and mobile apps; understanding of APIs (REST, etc.).
• Defect lifecycle management: logging, prioritization, retest, closure.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and release cycles.

About The Role

We're looking for an SDET/QA Engineer to own quality across functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing, while building out automated test coverage integrated into our CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data for functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing
• Run manual and automated tests; log, triage, and retest defects
• Design and develop automated tests (API, UI, or both) and integrate them into CI/CD
• Participate in requirements/review meetings; identify gaps, risks, and testability issues
• Report test status, coverage, and risks; support release sign-off
• Contribute to test strategy, best practices, and process improvements

What We’re Looking For

Testing

• Strong experience in test design — test cases, scenarios, and data
• Functional, regression, integration, and (ideally) performance/security testing
• Experience with web and/or mobile apps; understanding of APIs (REST, etc.)
• Defect lifecycle: logging, prioritization, retest, closure
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and release cycles

Test Automation

• Hands-on automation in at least one stack:
  • UI: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar
  • API: Postman, RestAssured, Jest, or equivalent
• Scripting/coding in one of: Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#
• Basic understanding of CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.) and running tests in pipelines

Tools & Practices

• Test management: Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar
• API testing: Postman, SoapUI, or similar
• DB basics: SQL and Postgres for test data and validation
• Version control: Git (branching, pull requests)

Soft Skills

• Clear written and verbal communication; good documentation
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks
• Ownership of quality for assigned areas; proactive in finding and raising risks

Good to Have

• Domain experience (loyalty, gamification, fintech, retail)
• Performance testing (JMeter, k6, or similar)
• Mobile testing (Appium or similar)
• Basic knowledge of cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) or containers
