Job summary

Capco, a Wipro company, seeks an SDET Automation Test Engineer with Playwright and AI Agentic Testing to join our India delivery teams. You will design and implement automated UI and API tests and integrate them with CI/CD pipelines on banking and financial services projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in automation, strong Java, SQL, Selenium/Playwright, REST Assured, and Jenkins, plus experience in DevOps collaboration and effective written and spoken communication.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, experience with Java collections, exceptions, and file I/O
• Testing frameworks: Junit/TestNG
• Test Automation IDE: Selenium/Playwright for UI automation
• Proficiency in SQL for writing and executing queries
• Solid understanding of Rest Assured for API Testing, understanding of HTTP methods, Status Codes, and JSON/XML parsing
• Strong expertise with Jenkins for CI/CD
• Competence in using Git and GitHub for source code management
• Familiarity with build tools like Maven or Gradle for project dependency management and build automation
• Familiarity with IDEs (e.g. Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, etc.)
• Good understanding of Linux systems and command-line tools
• Ability to work effectively in a DevOps environment where Dev and QA collaborate closely
• Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Constantly strive to learn new technologies and look for ways to stay up to date in this rapidly changing industry

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated UI tests using Selenium or Playwright
• Develop API tests using REST Assured and validate HTTP methods and responses
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data verification
• Integrate test suites with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with Dev and QA in a DevOps environment
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues across the tech stack
• Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
