Job summary
Capco Bengaluru seeks an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for web and mobile platforms. You will write Playwright scripts for web and Appium scripts for Android/iOS, perform comprehensive testing, and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.
The role requires hands-on expertise with modern test automation tools, API testing, cross-browser/device testing, and collaboration with developers and product owners to improve product quality.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in QA Automation / SDET / Software Testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with Appium for mobile automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for web/UI automation.
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Python, with preference for JavaScript/TypeScript when using Playwright.
- Good understanding of Android and iOS application testing.
- Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing.
- Strong knowledge of automation framework design, including Page Object Model (POM) and reusable test components.
- Experience with API testing and automation.
- Experience with version-control systems such as Git.
- Hands-on experience integrating automation tests with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, defect lifecycle, and testing methodologies.
- Good debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause-analysis skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for web and mobile applications.
- Develop automated test scripts using Playwright for web apps and Appium for Android/iOS apps.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and cross-browser/device testing.
- Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
- Develop reusable automation components and improve test framework scalability and maintainability.
- Perform API testing and automation using Postman, REST Assured, Playwright API, or equivalents.
- Analyze test failures, logs, and defects to identify root causes.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA throughout the SDLC.
- Participate in test planning, estimation, strategy, and automation coverage discussions.
- Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, execution time, reliability, and quality.
- Track defects and tests using JIRA/Azure DevOps.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure automation code follows best practices.
