Job summary

EXL is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to drive SAFe Agile delivery from its Gurugram (Haryana) center. You will facilitate ceremonies, coach teams, and coordinate across multiple Agile teams to ensure on-time delivery with high quality.

The role requires 6+ years as a Scrum Master, SAFe certification, and strong facilitation and stakeholder communication skills. Prior experience in insurance/related domains is a plus.

Qualifications

• CS/IT degree or related field required.
• CSM or SAFe certification mandatory (e.g., SAFe Scrum Master).
• 6+ years of Scrum Master experience in Agile environments.
• Proven SAFe implementation experience in delivery.
• Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
• Guide teams in SAFe principles and Scrum practices.
• Remove impediments to protect the team from disruptions.
• Support Product Owner in backlog refinement and prioritization.
• Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile values and SAFe methodologies.
• Monitor velocity, quality and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate cross-team alignment and stakeholder updates.
• Collaborate with DevOps to improve CI/CD pipelines and releases.

Role & responsibilities

Scrum Master Responsibilities:

• Facilitate key Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Guide the team in adhering to SAFe Agile principles and Scrum best practices.
• Remove impediments to protect the team from external disruptions and ensure uninterrupted workflow.
• Support the Product Owner in managing and refining the product backlog to prioritize deliverables effectively.
• Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile principles, ensuring alignment with SAFe methodologies.
• Monitor and improve team performance metrics, focusing on velocity, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and self-organization within the team.
• Act as a servant leader, addressing team needs while ensuring adherence to Agile frameworks.

Cross-Team Coordination and Stakeholder Management:

• Enable alignment between multiple Agile teams as per SAFe guidelines, facilitating seamless collaboration and delivery.
• Coordinate program-level processes, such as PI Planning, and track team dependencies using SAFe techniques.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on sprint and release progress.

Release and DevOps Collaboration:

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and optimize delivery processes.
• Support release planning and ensure adherence to best practices in testing, deployment, and integration.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agile certification (e.g., SAFe Scrum Master).
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments.
• Proven expertise in applying SAFe Agile principles to project delivery.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage teams and stakeholders effectively.
• Proficiency with Agile tools, such as Rally, JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms.

Preferred candidate profile

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the insurance industry.

• Advanced SAFe certifications, such as SAFe Program Consultant (SPC).
• Understanding of DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and release management processes.
