Job summary

Hirestar job Bank is seeking a seasoned SCM Director (Purchase and Sourcing) for the Cochin site. The role focuses on leading procurement strategies, strategic sourcing, and supplier development to ensure cost-effective and timely material acquisition for manufacturing operations.

Ideal candidates will have 18+ years in EMS/electro‑mechanical purchasing, with experience in connector/cable assemblies and knowledge of major ISO standards.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of experience in Purchase and Sourcing within EMS/electro‑mechanical manufacturing.
• Connector/Cable Assembly background preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO14001, RBA, and VDA 6.3 is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies aligned with site objectives.
• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier localization for cost optimization.
• Lead supplier development to meet quality, cost and delivery standards.
• Negotiate favorable pricing, terms and conditions with suppliers.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, planning and finance to align sourcing needs.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity.
• Build strong relationships with key suppliers and strategic partners.
• Ensure timely renewal and compliance of supplier contracts and procurement policies.

The Director Supply Chain Management (Purchase & Sourcing) is responsible for leading the overall procurement and sourcing strategy, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required for manufacturing and business operations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1 . Procurement Strategy & Leadersh ip: Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives for the Cochin site.
• 2. Strategic Sourcing & Localization: Drive strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier localization programs to support cost optimization and supply chain resilience.
• 3. Supplier Development & Performance Management : Lead supplier development initiatives to ensure suppliers meet or exceed expectations on quality, cost competitiveness, and delivery performance.
• 4. Cost Management & Negotiation : Develop effective negotiation strategies to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and contractual conditions.
• 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, production, planning, and finance teams to identify sourcing needs and ensure alignment with operational requirements.
• 6 . Risk Management & Supply Continuity :Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks related to suppliers, materials availability, and logistics.
• 7. Vendor Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with key suppliers and strategic partners.
• 8. Governance & Compliance :Ensure timely renewal and compliance of supplier contracts, agreements, and procurement policies.
