Job description

Qualification: Masters in Teaching Subject with B.Ed/ M.ed

Experience: 3 Years in leadership position

Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership and Vision:
    1. Propagate our compelling vision & mission for the school, aligned with SQAA standards, through Curricular, Co-Curricular & Extra-Curricular programs.
    2. Provide strategic leadership to achieve academic excellence and holistic development.
  2. Academic Excellence:
    1. Ensure effective implementation of Curriculum and other activities as per the CBSE, NCF, NEP 2020 guidelines in collaboration with the expectations of school management.
    2. Oversee curriculum development and implementation, ensuring alignment with CBSE NCF, NEP 2020 guidelines.
    3. Plan the year's academic work in advance in consultation with colleagues and School’s Management, and hold staff meetings at regular intervals.
    4. Monitor and enhance teaching methodologies to promote effective learning outcomes.
    5. Implement innovative educational practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement with the approval of the school’s management.
    6. Create, define & implement robust data systems to track and improve student learning.
    7. Ensure school events are conducted effectively.
    8. Oversee Sports and Performing Arts & promote registration for after school programs.
  3. Student Welfare:
    1. Ensure the safety, well-being, and discipline of students according to SQAA and school policies.
    2. Implement student-centric initiatives for holistic development.
    3. Arrange for special remedial teaching for children who need it and make necessary arrangements for organizing special instructions according to their needs.
    4. Promote the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of pupils, ensure high standards of cleanliness and health habits, and arrange periodical medical examinations of students.
    5. Notify immediately the school management when there is evidence of child abuse, neglect, or severe medical or social conditions.
  4. Staff Management:
    1. Recruit, train, and evaluate teaching and administrative staff to maintain high-quality standards.
    2. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment for all staff members.
    3. Ensure optimum utilization of teaching staff by giving required workload and delegating additional responsibilities.
    4. Conduct Teacher/Coordinator observations and provide constructive feedback as per the set appraisal mechanism.
    5. Ensure observations by Coordinators are done as per schedule & send reports to school management.
    6. Ensure maximum adherence to HR Policies.
    7. Setup & implement protocols for a 360° Appraisal system in the school. Conduct quarterly appraisal reviews in one academic year.
    8. Ensure the recruitment of efficient staff within the prescribed time frame.
    9. Effectively control attrition by facilitating a conducive work environment for school staff.
    10. Ensure teaching and non-teaching staff undergo an induction program at regular intervals. Identify talents, grooming and training them for further responsibilities.
    11. Handle staff grievances and organize staff engagement activities.
  5. Continuous Professional Development:
    1. Foster a culture of continuous professional development for teachers and staff.
    2. Help and guide teachers to promote their professional growth and encourage participation in in-service education courses.
    3. Promote initiatives for self-improvement and encourage pedagogical and educational innovations.
    4. Stay abreast of educational trends and best practices.
    5. Provide & record constructive feedback.
  6. Financial Management:
    1. Ensure proper preparation of the School's Budget and timely collection of fees.
    2. Manage the school's budget effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
    3. Maintain accounts, school records, service books of teachers, and other specified registers.
    4. Make purchases of materials required for the school and maintain stock registers.
  7. Parent and Community Engagement:
    1. Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, fostering open communication.
    2. Engage with the community to enhance the school's reputation and support.
    3. Manage PTA and other Parent Engagement Activities effectively.
    4. Ensure effective communication with students, staff, and parents.
    5. Guide the Relationship Cell team to resolve parent concerns/queries effectively.
  8. Infrastructure and Facilities:
    1. Oversee the maintenance and development of school infrastructure in compliance with policies, SQAA standards & CBSE affiliation guidelines.
    2. Ensure a safe and conducive environment for teaching and learning.
    3. Develop and organize library resources and ensure access to valuable books and journals.
    4. Conduct physical verification of school property and stock quarterly, ensuring accurate maintenance of stock registers.
    5. Ensure satisfactory arrangements for drinking water and proper maintenance of school facilities.
  9. Admin Operation:
    1. Coordinate and supervise administrative activities.
    2. Ensure proper audits are conducted and effective feedback is generated.
    3. Ensure all documents are maintained accurately by respective departments.
    4. Participate actively in admission and marketing planning & in planning new projects with management.
    5. Implement any other assignments directed by the managing committee.
  10. Admission Cycle:
    1. Lead the admission process ensuring that USPs associated with the SDIS are communicated effectively to parents.
    2. Ensure admission targets for the academic year are met through effective training and mentorship of the Relationship Cell team.
    3. Plan for LC analysis, retention of LCs & Student Projection.
  11. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance:
    1. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations as per Board and internal processes.
    2. Ensure compliance with Affiliation and Examination Byelaws by CBSE.
    3. Coordinate and correspond with Government authorities and Boards timely.
    4. Act as a Centre Superintendent when appointed by CBSE Board and not delegate authority.
    5. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national education regulations.
    6. Address and resolve any regulatory issues promptly.
    7. Implement systems for enforcement of POCSO Act, 2012 as per guidelines.
  12. SQAA:
    1. Ensure adherence to SQAA guidelines and standards in all school operations.
    2. Lead the school in preparing for and undergoing SQAA assessments.

Reviews: You will be required to carry out your duties effectively to achieve the Level III & IV, which may include working late hours.

Action Plan: Create an action plan for achieving the standards set by SQAA in consultation with management.

Implementation: Implement the action plans with utmost effectiveness and efficiency.
