Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SCADA system design for Solar PV, BESS, and Hybrid projects.
• Develop architecture, philosophy, and network topology for PMS and SCADA.
• Coordinate with EPCs, OEMs, and grid authorities for approvals.
• Ensure cybersecurity per IEC 62443 and related standards.
• Provide site support during installation, FAT/SAT, and commissioning.
• Mentor and standardize design practices across teams.

About the Role

Reliance RE Power is looking for an experienced SCADA Design Manager to lead the design, engineering, and implementation of SCADA, Plant Monitoring Systems (PMS), Communication Networks, and Automation solutions for Utility-Scale Solar PV, BESS, Hybrid Renewable Energy, and Substation projects.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing robust SCADA architectures, ensuring seamless communication between plant equipment and control centers, standardizing engineering practices, managing EPC partners, and delivering secure, reliable, and scalable automation systems aligned with national and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

SCADA System Design

• Lead end-to-end engineering of SCADA systems for Utility Scale Solar PV and Hybrid Renewable Energy projects.
• Develop complete SCADA architecture from plant level to remote monitoring centers.
• Prepare SCADA philosophy, design basis, system architecture, and communication philosophy.
• Develop system layouts, control room architecture, and networking topology.
• Define Plant Monitoring System (PMS) requirements.

Coordinate with DISCOMs, STU, CTU, and Grid Authorities for communication approvals.

Cyber Security

• Develop secure SCADA network architecture.
• Implement cybersecurity practices in accordance with IEC 62443 and relevant standards.
• Design firewall architecture, VLAN segmentation, VPN connectivity, user authentication, and secure remote access.
• Ensure compliance with organizational cybersecurity policies.

Vendor & EPC Management

• Prepare technical specifications and RFQs for SCADA systems.
• Evaluate OEMs and vendors.
• Review technical bids.
• Conduct technical clarifications.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors and system integrators.
• Participate in factory inspections and FAT.

Site Support

Provide engineering support during:

• Installation
• Configuration
• FAT
• SAT
• Commissioning
• Performance Testing
• Grid Synchronization

Troubleshoot communication and integration issues during commissioning.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor SCADA design engineers.
• Develop engineering standards and best practices.
• Standardize design templates across projects.
• Drive engineering quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Protection, BESS, Project Execution, and O&M teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline.
• Master's Degree is preferred.

Experience

• 12–18 years of experience in SCADA, Automation, Communication Engineering, or Power System Automation.
• Minimum 5 years in Utility Scale Solar or Renewable Energy projects.
• Experience in leading engineering teams at a managerial level.
• Exposure to BESS, Hybrid Renewable Energy, or Grid Automation projects is highly desirable.
