Job summary

Signify Bangalore is seeking an SAP S/4HANA VIM Functional Engineer to provide global application maintenance for OpenText VIM solutions and ICC/IES within a post go-live environment. You will collaborate with Accounts Payable, Procurement, and cross-functional teams to ensure stable, compliant procure-to-pay and invoice processing, with a focus on OCR tuning and incident management.

Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering/IT/Finance is required, with hands-on VIM configuration and SAP S/4HANA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, IT, Finance or related field.
• Hands-on experience configuring and supporting OpenText VIM in SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong functional knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (P2P), FI-AP and MM-LIV processes.
• Experience in global AMS or production support with stakeholder management.
• Experience with OCR/IES recognition and document processing in SAP environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain OpenText VIM solutions aligned to the global template and deploy SAP S/4HANA implementation locally.
• Provide functional support for VIM components including DP workplace, VIM Analytics, OCR/IES recognition, approvals, and exception handling.
• Deliver end-to-end AMS support: incident management, service requests, defect resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Tune OCR/IES recognition, update rules and improve automated first-pass invoice processing rates.
• Conduct impact analysis and testing for changes, VIM patch updates and enhancements.
• Support P2P processes with FI-AP, MM and LIV integration and monitor daily operations.
• Provide user support and knowledge sharing to enable consistent adoption and operational effectiveness.

Signify is amid the design, build and deployment of a global greenfield S/4HANA solution. To support the deployment and ensure stable operations and continuous optimization, we are establishing a global application maintenance organization. The SAP S4HANA VIM Functional Engineer is responsible for operational support in S/4 HANA deployments and supporting and optimizing OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) and Invoice Capture Center (ICC/IES) solutions in a post go‑live application maintenance environment. Collaborates within a global team and works closely with business stakeholders, Accounts Payable, Procurement, partners, and cross‑functional teams to ensure stable, compliant, and efficient procure‑to‑pay and invoice processing operations. The role focuses on functional support, exception resolution, OCR optimization, system stability, and operational effectiveness.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Support Accounts Payable and Finance Business Process Owners, key users, and project teams in maintaining OpenText VIM solutions aligned to the global template and deploying the global S/4 HANA implementation on a local level.

Provide functional support across core VIM components including Document Processing (DP) workplace, VIM Analytics, OCR/IES recognition, approval workflows, and exception handling (e.g., PO block, price/quantity variance, missing PO).

Provide end‑to‑end functional support in an AMS environment including incident management, service requests, defect resolution, and root cause analysis in line with agreed service levels.

Conduct OCR/IES recognition tuning, field extraction optimization, and rules engine updates to improve automated first‑pass invoice processing rates.

Conduct impact analysis and testing to support quality delivery of changes, VIM patch updates, and system enhancements.

Support Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) processes with strong integration across Accounts Payable (FI‑AP), Purchasing (MM), and Logistics Invoice Verification (MM‑LIV).

Monitor system performance, operational issues, workflow bottlenecks, and user feedback to ensure stable and efficient day‑to‑day invoice processing operations.

Support critical business operations including month‑end payment runs, invoice posting deadlines, and vendor query resolution, ensuring continuity and timely issue resolution.

Provide user support, functional guidance, and knowledge sharing to enable consistent adoption and operational effectiveness.

Critical Experiences and Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in Engineering, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.

Hands‑on experience in configuring and supporting OpenText VIM, DP document types, indexing screens, process types, exception rules, approval hierarchies, and OCR/IES recognition engines integrated with SAP S/4HANA environment.

Strong functional knowledge of Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P), Accounts Payable (FI‑AP), and Logistics Invoice Verification (MM‑LIV) processes.

Experience working in a global application maintenance support or production support environment including stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration.

Experience in system enhancements, incident resolution, problem management, testing, and delivery of supportable business solutions.

Experience supporting business‑critical Accounts Payable operations.

Good understanding of integration points with SAP S/4HANA and ECC modules (FI, MM, SRM).

Strong analytical, debugging, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a global, complex, and highly integrated business environment.

Nice to Have

Experience with OpenText Information Extraction Service (IES) cloud migration and S/4HANA VIM Fiori apps.

Working knowledge of SAP Ariba or external vendor portal integrations with OpenText VIM.

OpenText VIM, SAP FI, or SAP MM certification.

Experience handling OpenText software upgrades, patches, or component updates.

Good to Have

Exposure to automated e‑invoicing frameworks and regional tax compliance rules (e.g., Peppol, e‑reporting).

Experience using ITIL‑aligned support tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence.

Exposure to ABAP debugging for VIM user exits, BAdIs, or custom workflow agents.

Experience working with global templates and standardized business processes.

Grading Differentiators

Good knowledge of OpenText VIM processes, OCR tuning, SAP Accounts Payable, and incident management practices.

Operates independently within assigned functional scope and delivers with limited supervision.

Able to resolve moderately complex functional and workflow issues across integrated SAP P2P processes.
