Job summary

Merrin & Associates in Bengaluru, India is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Specialist reporting to ERP Technical Manager. You will ensure delivery quality for ERP roll-out projects, whether done internally or via external partners.

You will participate in technical design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, enforce development norms, and ensure code quality and documentation alignment.

Qualifications

• Graduated from Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or related field.
• 3 to 5 years relevant experience.
• Knowledge on PI, Solman, Fiori, Hana.

Responsibilities

• Create technical design or approve technical design when done by external partner.
• Performs ABAP programming, testing and debugging work related to the implementation, enhancement and support of SAP modules.
• Be accountable for the quality and stability of the deployed code.
• Controls the quality of the delivery of our Partners on his scope of expertise.
• Perform regular ABAP code review before move to preproduction.
• Troubleshoot ABAP code in case of issue.
• Provide L3 expertise to internal Core Team and Partners.
• Perform POCs & feasibility analysis for Core Team.
• Ensure Alstom get the right level of support from the partners.
• Ensure Alstom Best Practices / dev norms are known and followed by everyone.
• Ensure Technical documentation is up-to-date.
• Provide regular reporting to management and other stakeholders when necessary.
• Ensure alignment with other teams within IS&T, Internal Stakeholders and delivery through Strategic Partners.

Job Description

The SAP ABAP Specialist is reporting to ERP Technical Manager and SAP Dev Stream Leader. They are responsible for the quality of the delivery the development of ERP Roll-Out projects, either done internally or delegated to external partners.

They are involved successively in the technical design (either to design or to validate), in the implementation (taking actions or coordinating actors), in the maintenance (documentation update, continuous improvement) and in the troubleshooting (analysis and coordination of actors). They review and enforces development norms and best practices and also is accountable for the quality of the code and the adequation of the documentation.

Experience

Mandatory

• Graduated from Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or related field


• 3 to 5 years relevant experience


• Relevant experience on Abap Experience


• Experience on both Run & Project contexts.


• Knowledge on concepts of PI, Solman, Fiori, Hana

Competencies & Skills

• Strong skills of programming tools and techniques such as Report Transaction creation, Enhancements, Conversion Programs, SAPscript, and SmartForms, Screen Painter BDC, LSMW, User Exits, Menu Exits, Function Exit, Screen Exit, ALV Reports, Dialog Programming, Data Dictionary, RFC, ABAP Query, ALE, BAPI, and BADI. Application of OSS notes.


• Hands-on experience in SAP Mobility (SUP/Syclo/NetWeaver Mobile) and OData Services using SAP NetWeaver Gateway and SAP Mobile SDK.


• Good knowledge on JavaScript /Form calc


• Should have good experience on EDI, ALE, IDOC
