Job summary

Heptarc Talent Acquisition seeks an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to design, build, and maintain SAP applications in a client-facing contract role. You will collaborate with functional teams to capture requirements and translate them into robust ABAP solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of ABAP development experience, strong debugging skills, and familiarity with SAP modules such as SD, MM, FI, and HR, plus exposure to SAP workflow and HANA technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 5-10 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Proficiency in ABAP programming including ABAP Objects, ALV reporting, IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, BDCs, and Smart Forms.
• Experience with SAP modules such as SD, MM, FI, HR, or others.
• Strong understanding of SAP system architecture and integration points.
• Familiarity with SAP enhancement frameworks (user exits, BADIs, enhancement points).
• Experience with SAP workflow development and maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• SAP certification in ABAP development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain SAP ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
• Collaborate with functional consultants and business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Perform unit testing and support system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in SAP systems.
• Optimize and enhance existing ABAP code for performance improvements.
• Provide technical support and maintenance for SAP applications.
• Ensure compliance with SAP best practices and coding standards.
