Job summary

Volvo Group in Bengaluru seeks an energetic sales professional with 3–4 years of direct genset sales experience to drive DG set business from 250 kVA to 1 MW. You will own targets, expand OEMs, EPCs, and industrial accounts, and develop market-awareness initiatives.

Exposure to BESS, hybrid power solutions, and digital marketing tools will be an added advantage. Travel and customer engagement form core parts of the role in this growth-centric setup.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of proven experience in direct genset sales.
• Must have independently handled sales numbers and revenue targets.
• Strong experience in 250 kVA to 1 MW DG set sales.
• Exposure to industrial, infrastructure, construction, rental, mining, railways, data center, or power generation markets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and business development of DG sets in the 250 kVA to 1 MW segment.
• Own and deliver individual sales targets, revenue, and profitability objectives.
• Develop new customers and expand relationships with OEMs, EPC contractors, industrial customers, rental companies, infrastructure developers, data centers, and government accounts.
• Understand customer applications, load requirements, and recommend suitable genset solutions.
• Create market awareness and increase product visibility through customer engagement programs, exhibitions, industry events, trade shows, and seminars.
• Identify and participate in relevant industry forums and associations to promote the product portfolio.
• Work with product management, engineering, and application teams to support customer requirements.
• Track market intelligence, customer trends, and emerging technologies.
• Utilize CRM tools and sales analytics to drive business decisions and improve sales effectiveness.
• Develop and deliver professional customer presentations, business reviews, and market reports.

Role Summary

We are seeking an energetic and result-oriented sales professional with proven experience in direct diesel generator (DG) set sales. The candidate should have hands-on experience managing individual sales targets, developing new business opportunities, and driving market awareness in the power generation industry. Exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and digital marketing initiatives will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive sales and business development of DG sets in the 250 kVA to 1 MW segment, with preference for experience in the MHP (Medium Horsepower) and HHP (High Horsepower) range.
• Own and deliver individual sales targets, revenue, and profitability objectives.
• Develop new customers and expand relationships with OEMs, EPC contractors, industrial customers, rental companies, infrastructure developers, data centers, and government accounts.
• Understand customer applications, load requirements, and recommend suitable genset solutions.
• Create market awareness and increase product visibility through customer engagement programs, exhibitions, industry events, trade shows, and technical seminars.
• Identify and participate in relevant industry forums and associations to promote the product portfolio.
• Work closely with product management, engineering, and application teams to support customer requirements.
• Track market intelligence, customer trends, and emerging technologies.
• Utilize CRM tools and sales analytics to drive business decisions and improve sales effectiveness.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience

• 3-4 years of proven experience in direct genset sales.
• Must have independently handled sales numbers and revenue targets.
• Strong experience in 250 kVA to 1 MW DG set sales.
• Exposure to industrial, infrastructure, construction, rental, mining, railways, data center, or power generation markets preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of DG set applications, specifications, and commercial aspects.
• Ability to identify customer needs and position the right solution.
• Knowledge of market development and brand visibility initiatives.
• Experience using social media platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, and digital marketing tools for lead generation will be an added advantage.
• Exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), hybrid power solutions, microgrids, or renewable integration will be highly preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, CRM systems, Power BI, and presentation tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong customer focus.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering preferred)
• MBA in Marketing or Business Management will be an added advantage.
