Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the Design and Application Engineering of Auxiliary Power solutions ranging from 5 kVA to 2500 kVA (Low, Medium & Mega Series). The role involves driving product development, customization, cost optimization, and cross‑functional collaboration for domestic and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and application engineering of DG sets (5 kVA to 2500 kVA).
- Drive enclosure, silencer, base frame, and cooling system design.
- Develop product expansion strategies through design, branding, selection, or technology tie‑ups.
- Support domestic and export markets (Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe).
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Application Engineering & Product Line teams for custom order execution.
- Release BOM and technical specifications within defined timelines.
- Convert technical applications and electrical integration into clear engineering requirements.
- Review electrical schemes for DG integration with synchronizing, MCC, and AMF panels.
- Ensure compliance with homologation, certification, and regulatory requirements (domestic & export).
- Lead cross‑functional teams to ensure FTR closure and new product readiness.
- Drive engineering change management discussions and technical documentation releases.
- Control cost through zero‑based costing methodologies to maximize margins.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance team technical capabilities.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with fixed deliverables.
Must‑Have Skill Set
- B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in DG Set / Silent Generator / Genset sales or application engineering.
- Strong exposure to:
- DG Set design, testing & validation
- Engine mounting & integration
- Switchgear systems
- Electrical panels (Synchronizing, MCC, AMF)
- Electrical schematics & DG standards
- Experience in BOM preparation and technical specification release.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (Casting, Forging, Fabrication, Sheet Metal, Piping).
- Hands‑on experience with Pro‑E or similar mechanical design tools.
- Sales orientation with B2B / Retail Sales exposure.
- Business development and customer support experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and drive product releases.
Nice‑to‑Have Skill Set
- Experience handling export compliance and homologation requirements.
- Exposure to reciprocating engine design.
- Knowledge of zero‑based costing and cost optimization strategies.
- Experience managing technical change requests.
