Job summary

Naukri E-hire is seeking an HVAC Estimation Engineer with hands-on experience in chilled water and central HVAC systems. You will prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and techno-commercial proposals while supporting the sales process from enquiry to order closure.

The role requires interpreting drawings, BOQs, and specifications, with proficiency in MS Excel and preferably AutoCAD. Willingness to travel for customer meetings and site visits is expected.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in HVAC, particularly chilled water systems, central AC, heating, ventilation.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and BOQs for estimation.
• Develop techno-commercial proposals and support sales from enquiry to order closure.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and scope of work.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for HVAC systems.
• Prepare estimates for piping, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, pumps, valves, and accessories.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and project teams for technical and commercial discussions.
• Submit technical and commercial quotations based on customer requirements.
• Conduct site visits and clarify customer requirements to support quotations.

Job Summary

The candidate should have hands‑on experience in HVAC field particularly in chilled water systems, centralized air conditioning, heating, ventilation systems, along with the ability to understand technical requirements, prepare accurate cost estimates, develop commercial proposals, and support the sales process from enquiry through order closure.

Key Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and scope of work.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, end users, and project teams for technical and commercial discussions.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for HVAC systems.
• Estimate and price chilled water piping, pumps, valves, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, and associated accessories.
• Prepare estimates for ventilation systems, including fresh air, exhaust, and smoke extraction systems.
• Prepare estimates for process piping systems, including piping, fittings, valves, supports, insulation, and related components.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
• Prepare comparative statements and negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors to achieve competitive pricing.
• Develop detailed techno‑commercial proposals and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and deviations before quotation submission.
• Maintain estimation databases for materials, labour, subcontracting, and equipment costs.
• Prepare and submit technical and commercial quotations based on customer requirements.
• Conduct site visits, technical discussions, and clarification meetings with customers.
• Follow up on submitted quotations and actively support order conversion.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for repeat business.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and project opportunities.

Technical Responsibilities

• Interpret HVAC and mechanical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, equipment schedules, and specifications.
• Perform basic HVAC and piping calculations as required for estimation and proposal preparation.
• Understand chilled water distribution systems and associated hydraulic requirements.
• Review ducting, ventilation, piping, equipment, and installation requirements.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, project execution, and engineering teams to ensure technical accuracy.
• Ensure proposed solutions comply with applicable project specifications, standards, and customer requirements.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical services.
• Good understanding of chilled water HVAC systems.
• Practical knowledge of ventilation and exhaust systems.
• Good understanding of process piping systems and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings, P&IDs, layouts, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Strong estimation, costing, and quantity take‑off skills.
• Good knowledge of HVAC equipment, piping components, valves, pumps, insulation, and accessories.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and preparation of techno‑commercial quotations.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and customer‑handling skills.
• Ability to manage multiple enquiries and meet quotation deadlines.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings and site visits when required.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with strong relevant experience may also be considered.
