Job summary

Profile Data Center Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a technically strong Sales & Estimation Engineer with 3–6 years of experience in engineering, estimation, and sales support. You will prepare cost estimates, BOM/BOQ, technical proposals, and quotations while assisting the sales team in client meetings.

You should read drawings, interpret specifications, and coordinate with internal departments to ensure commercially competitive and technically compliant proposals.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3–6 years of experience in estimation or technical sales support.

Job Summary

We are looking for a technically strong and commercially aware Sales & Estimation Engineer with 36 years of experience in engineering, estimation, and sales support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, Bills of Materials (BOM), Bills of Quantities (BOQ), technical proposals, and quotations while supporting the sales team in client meetings and technical discussions.

The candidate should be comfortable interpreting technical drawings, understanding engineering specifications, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring commercially competitive and technically compliant proposals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Estimation & Commercial Proposals

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, quotations, and commercial proposals based on project requirements.
• Calculate material, fabrication, manufacturing, and other applicable project costs.
• Evaluate project costing, pricing, margins, and cost optimisation opportunities.
• Review customer enquiries, tender documents, RFQs, and BOQs to prepare accurate estimates within deadlines.
• Coordinate with Purchase and vendors to obtain material rates and supplier quotations.

2. BOM, BOQ & Technical Documentation

• Prepare and review Bills of Materials (BOM) and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) as per project specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, layouts, product specifications, and technical documents.
• Identify material requirements, quantities, specifications, and scope of supply.
• Ensure technical and commercial documentation is accurate and aligned with customer requirements.
• Maintain estimation sheets, quotation records, and supporting documentation.

3. Sales Support & Client Coordination

• Provide technical and commercial support to the sales team throughout the sales cycle.
• Attend client meetings to understand project requirements and discuss proposed technical solutions.
• Respond to customer queries related to specifications, costing, product suitability, and scope of work.
• Coordinate with customers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to clarify technical requirements.
• Follow up on quotations, customer feedback, and pending commercial proposals.

4. Technical Compliance & Internal Coordination

• Review technical specifications and identify deviations, exclusions, or additional requirements.
• Coordinate with Design, Projects, Production, Purchase, and Sales teams for technical inputs.
• Support tender submissions, technical compliance statements, and pre-bid clarifications.
• Ensure estimates reflect the latest drawings, scope revisions, and commercial requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in estimation, technical sales support, engineering, or a manufacturing/engineering organisation.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of cost estimation, BOM, BOQ, and quotation preparation.
• Ability to understand technical drawings, engineering specifications, and project requirements.
• Good commercial awareness, costing accuracy, and analytical skills.
• Confident in client meetings, technical discussions, and cross-functional coordination.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant documentation tools.
• Strong communication, negotiation support, follow-up, and time-management skills.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in OEMs, engineering manufacturing, sheet metal products, mechanical systems, HVAC, MEP, data center infrastructure, or project-based technical sales will be preferred.
