Job summary

Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited in Hinjawadi (Pune) seeks an EHS professional to monitor and maintain all EHS activities on site. You will manage the Emergency Management System, including firefighting equipment, alarms, and safety showers, and ensure compliance with SOPs and audit findings.

You will conduct safety inspections, promote key safety initiatives, and coordinate drills. The role requires handling near-miss and unsafe condition reporting and maintaining training records.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in environment, health and safety systems.
• Experience implementing EHS SOPs and auditor findings.
• Ability to conduct safety inspections and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

Job description

To monitor and maintain the EHS related activities in company premises.

Responsible for the effective functioning and maintenance of the Emergency Management System, including all firefighting equipment (e.g., fire hydrant system, hose boxes, hose reels, fire extinguishers, fire alarms, smoke detection systems, and fire sprinkler systems).

Responsible for Checking of all emergency equipment like SCBA set, Fire bucket, Public address System, Emergency telephone, Evacuation bell, Spillage response kit, Emergency eye wash fountains, Safety shower etc.

Joint surveillance shall be conducted in unoccupied critical areas and 24-hour operational electrical equipment zones after the General shift, along with a security personnel. Any unsafe observations identified during the surveillance must be reported to the respective department head or designated authority.

Ensure compliance with Internal / External Auditor findings related to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS).

Effectively implement the Contractor Safety Management system at the Hinjawadi site by inspecting work areas, developing and communicating guidelines and training cards, issuing and ensuring compliance with work permits of Hinjawadi site.

Conduct Safety Inspection Rounds (SIR), and Contractor Safety Equipments as per schedule, and ensure timely compliance with findings.

Ensure the effective implementation of the Near Miss, Unsafe Behavior, and Unsafe Condition Reporting System.

Maintain the required spares for firefighting systems

Carry out job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA),

Responsible for organizing and promoting key annual safety and environmental awareness initiatives, such as National Safety Week, World Environment Day, Road Safety Week, and Fire Service Week.

Responsible for ensuring compliance with all EHS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at the site.

Ensure active participation in emergency control activities, Mock drill and wet drill at site.

Responsible for the effective implementation of the Quality Management System at the site.

Ensure the compliance of Ethical conduct & Data Integrity Policy.

Ensure the completion of departmental training and the availability of relevant training records.
