Job summary

ITC is seeking an EHS role professional to provide safety guidelines for contractor tenders, review safety plans, and ensure compliance with corporate EHS standards on industrial projects in Raipur.

The candidate will prepare risk assessments, conduct training programs on safety and site induction, and lead regular EHS inspections with sign-offs from execution engineers. Experience in construction/industrial projects is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in EHS roles.
• Diploma in safety (advantage).
• Construction industry experience preferred; FMCG/Manufacturing/Industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidelines on project safety requirements for contractor/vendor tender documents.
• Highlight issues to Project Manager for decision making to ensure safety requirements are included in scope of work.
• Prepare safety guidelines/checklists for the project.
• Review safety plans prepared by contractor and indicate changes.
• Plan and conduct training programs on EHS; deliver site trainings for ITC staff and contractor staff; conduct inductions.
• Coordinate to meet Corporate EHS guidelines for vendor-supplied items, especially fire and electrical safety.
• Prepare risk assessments and job safety analyses for critical activities with sign-off from execution engineer.
• Conduct regular EHS inspections of man, machines, materials, methods, and first-aid facilities.
• Investigate major incidents with safety committee, prepare reports and remedial actions.
• Review third-party certificates and licenses of contractor employees as per statutory requirements.

Role & responsibilities

• Provide guidelines on project safety requirements (to the relevant person) for incorporation in contractor/ vendor tender documents in order to ensure clarity is provided to the vendors/ contractors on safety requirements for inclusion in their quotations
• Highlight any issues/ deviations to the Project Manager/relevant authority in CPO for decision making in order to ensure ITC's safety requirements are understood by the contractor and included in scope of work
• Prepare guidelines/ checklist related to safety requirement for the project
• Review safety plan prepared by contractor and highlight changes/ revisions
• Prepare schedule, content of training programs on EHS; conduct trainings at site for ITC staff/ contractor's supervisory staff; conduct induction session for contactor employees and take sign-off post completion.
• Coordinate to ensure all relevant guidelines of Corporate EHS is fully met for the vendor supplied and installed items in respect of fire and electrical safety.
• Prepare risk assessment & job safety analysis for critical activities on project and get sign-off from execution engineer
• Conduct regular EHS inspections of man, machines, material, method of work, first aid facility etc.
• In case of major incident, conduct investigation by including members from safety committee, prepare report and circulate to all concerned and provide actions/remedial measure for future.
• Review third party test certificates of equipment's review licenses of the contractor employees (drivers, electricians etc.) as per statutory requirement in order to ensure adherence to required statutory compliances

Preferred candidate Profile

• Minimum 6 - 8 years of experience.
• Diploma in fair safety is added advantage
• Candidate with work experience in construction industry will be preferred.
