Job summary

Amara Raja Infra is seeking a Safety Officer/Safety Engineer to implement and monitor site safety practices across heavy industries projects in India. You will ensure statutory compliance, lead HIRA/JSA activities, and drive a strong safety culture on steel, power, cement plants and EPC sites.

The role requires handling PTW systems, incident investigations, and safety trainings while coordinating with contractors and site teams to reduce risks and improve KPIs.

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Engineering or Any graduation.

Responsibilities

• Implement company HSE policies and procedures at project sites.
• Ensure compliance with legal, statutory, and client safety requirements.
• Monitor day-to-day site safety activities.
• Promote safety awareness among employees and subcontractors.
• Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA).
• Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments.
• Recommend preventive and corrective measures.
• Track closure of identified safety observations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
• Monitor high-risk activities: Work at Height, Lifting Operations, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Electrical Works, Heavy Equipment Operations.
• Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss events.
• Prepare incident investigation reports.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain incident statistics and safety records.
• Conduct induction training programs.
• Organize toolbox talks and safety campaigns.
• Deliver safety awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
• Monitor safety competency requirements.
• Conduct mock drills and emergency exercises.
• Ensure availability of emergency response equipment.
• Coordinate emergency response activities at site.
• Maintain HSE records and statutory registers.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
• Track safety KPIs and compliance metrics.
