Job summary

Tuv in Pune seeks an experienced Safety Engineer to manage health, safety and environmental activities for a high-rise building project in Pune. The role requires a strong background in construction safety and statutory compliance.

You will implement policies, conduct risk assessments, manage permits, lead toolbox talks, ensure PPE use, and coordinate with contractors and clients to maintain safe working conditions and timely safety closures.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of safety experience in building construction projects.
• Strong experience in high-rise residential or commercial projects.
• Knowledge of construction safety, statutory compliance and permit systems.
• Good communication, reporting and team-coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor site safety policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
• Conduct daily site inspections, safety audits and risk assessments.
• Prepare HIRA, JSA, work permits and safety checklists.
• Monitor work-at-height, lifting, scaffolding, electrical and excavation activities.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions and training programmes.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safe working practices.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain safety records, reports and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients and project teams.
• Ensure emergency preparedness, fire safety and first-aid arrangements.
• Stop unsafe work and ensure timely closure of safety observations.
