Job summary

Definer Ventures is seeking a Safety Engineer to ensure a safe working environment at construction sites, implementing safety procedures and conducting inspections. The candidate will monitor PPE usage, prepare safety reports, and coordinate with site teams to enforce safety standards.

Key duties include toolbox talks, safety inductions, and maintaining documentation. NEBOSH/IOSH/OSHA certification is preferred, with 1 year in construction site safety desirable.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Safety Engineering, Civil Engineering, or relevant field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in construction/site safety.
• NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA certification preferred.
• Experience in Real Estate / Construction industry advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures at project sites.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify hazards.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules, regulations, and company standards.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs for workers.
• Monitor proper use of PPE and other safety equipment.
• Prepare and maintain safety reports, inspection records, and documentation.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss cases and prepare reports.
• Identify risks and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, supervisors, and workers regarding safety requirements.
• Monitor work permits and ensure safe work practices are followed.
• Conduct emergency preparedness and safety drills as required.
• Ensure housekeeping and safe working conditions at the project site.
• Assist in implementing emergency response and fire safety procedures.
• Report safety violations and follow up on corrective actions.
