Job summary

Chola is seeking a Safety Engineer in Bhilwara, Rajasthan with 5+ years of EHS experience for EPC projects. You will lead safety inspections across civil, structural, MEP and utilities, ensure compliance with method statements and risk assessments, and support PTW systems for high risk activities.

You will also monitor lifting, scaffolding, and installation safety, oversee chemical safety, deliver inductions, and conduct toolbox talks in Hindi/Marathi as needed. Immediate Joiner preferred.

Qualifications

Diploma/B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in safety or engineering.
ADIS/PDIS certification beneficial.
NEBOSH IGC and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certifications preferred.
Experience with lifting & rigging.
5+ years of EHS exposure in EPC projects.
Ability to investigate incidents.
Hands-on with HIRA & SOP practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports.
Capable of supervising safety teams.

Responsibilities

Conduct safety inspections across civil, PEB, structural, MEP and utilities works.
Monitor contractor activities for compliance with safety plans and risk assessments.
Support PTW system for high-risk activities.
Oversee lifting operations and scaffolding safety.
Monitor installation and commissioning of utilities and infrastructure safety.
Oversee safety for manufacturing related systems and processes.
Support chemical safety across plants and hazardous areas.
Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings in local languages.
Deliver safety induction and training for new workers.
Ensure proper implementation of confined space entry procedures.

Job Description

Conduct regular safety inspections and walkthroughs across all project work fronts including civil works, PEB erection, structural works, MEP installations, utilities installation, equipment installation, and commissioning activities; record observations and follow up for closure of safety deviations.
Monitor contractor and vendor activities to ensure compliance with project safety requirements, approved Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
Support implementation and monitoring of the Permit to Work (PTW) system for high-risk activities including work at height, lifting operations, confined space entry, electrical works, hot work, and excavation activities.
Monitor safe execution of lifting operations, structural erection, scaffolding works, excavation works, and other critical construction activities.
Monitor installation and commissioning activities for utilities and infrastructure systems including HVAC, electrical systems, firefighting systems, DG sets, LNG/HSD systems, kitchen gas systems, and other facility utilities.
Monitor installation and commissioning activities across manufacturing systems including paint shop equipment, process utilities, and associated safety systems.
Support monitoring of chemical safety practices across paint shops, ETP/STP/WTP systems, fuel handling areas, and other locations involving hazardous materials
Support toolbox talks, safety briefings, and work-front awareness sessions in local languages (Hindi / Marathi) for contractors and workmen.
Ensure delivery of safety induction and training programmes for newly mobilized workforce during installation, commissioning, and ramp-up phases.
