Orbit & Skyline India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a talented mechatronics engineer for field support, spending extensive time at customer sites to support deployed robotic systems.

You will perform system setup, calibration, testing, and diagnostics on hardware and software, and collaborate with design teams in the US and India to implement fixes and improvements.

Qualifications

• BS or B.Tech in Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of Mechatronics work experience.
• Experience in hardware design and end effector design.
• Field support experience at customer sites.
• Background in robotics testing.
• Creative thinking, strong problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Set up robotic systems at customer sites and calibrate performance.
• Test, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware/software issues independently.
• Document processes and report status to teams in US and India.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience with robotic/mechatronic systems; manage timelines.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a talented and motivated mechatronics engineer for our team who will providing field support. You will spend extensive periods in the field, supporting deployed robotic systems. Responsibilities include system setup upon delivery, performing calibration routines, testing and validating performance, and diagnosing, troubleshooting, and documenting hardware and software issues independently.

You will also collaborate closely with the design teams in the US and India to develop fixes and improvements to the product. A background in mechatronics and extensive experience in lab work and design of experiments (DOE) is essential. Flexibility and readiness to engage in various technical areas based on project needs are crucial. Our team operates like a start-up division, with engineers working on diverse aspects of projects in a dynamic environment. Critical analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

• Setup and calibrate robotic systems at customer sites upon delivery. Test system performance, diagnose issues, troubleshoot, and resolve most problems independently. This will include resolving issues with system software/firmware. Document this process and report status regularly to teams in the US and India.
• Demonstrate strong hands-on experience with robotic and mechatronic systems. Manage timeline and project logistics
• Design and conduct experiments and tests to resolve complex technical problems, implementing DOE principles.
• Collaborate closely with engineers in the US and India to troubleshoot and solve challenging problems over the phone while at the customer site.
• Perform technical scoping for new operation/maintenance procedures
• Collaborate with CFT engineers to clarify maintenance procedures when only sparse documentation is available
• Present project updates and results to management in formal and informal presentations
• Work with the design team in the US and India to develop fixes and improvements to the product.
• Take strong ownership of assigned tasks and projects, ensuring proper accountability.
• Act as a liaison for cross-functional projects across multiple organizations.
• Train other engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel.

Eligibility Criteria?

Must-Have

• BS or B. Tech in Mechatronics Engineering or similar
• 3-5 years of mechatronics work experience
• Experience with hardware design and end effector design.
• Experience in field support at customer sites
• Background in robotics testing or a similar field.
• Creative thinking, strong problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Ability to complete projects and learn required skills with minimal guidance
• Experience with robotic path programming and computer vision is a plus.
