Role Overview
Validation engineers examine scenarios where the device fails to perform as intended, assess the impact and root cause, and take appropriate action to maintain quality, safety, and spec compliance. They design PCB boards and develop automation software to expand test coverage and reduce data collection time, create measurement methods, and troubleshoot related systems, equipment, or device issues in a post‑silicon lab or through required software.
Responsibilities
- Design and review PCB schematics and layouts, select materials and stackups, and coordinate with third‑party PCB services.
- Develop test automation, interface programming (SPI, UART, UCI), and data processing and visualization across PVT corners.
- Execute RF, IF, and DC measurements such as noise figure, gain, linearity (P1dB, IIP2, IIP3), IQ imbalance, LO leakage, DC offsets, and power consumption; interpret results to separate IC from setup issues.
- Debug the RF transceiver SoC, identifying power/biasing, register, board‑level, and semiconductor process issues.
- Plan and perform calibration of transceiver chains (AGC, PDET, gain, offset, IQMM, etc.) and low‑current mode operations.
- Work closely with the Product Development and Radio Design teams as a strong, collaborative team player.
Key Skills
- System‑level understanding of radio transceivers, including transmit/receive chains and modulation parameters such as PER, BER, SNR, EVM, and RMSEE.
- RF measurement expertise covering receiver and transmitter chains and associated DC, IF, and RF metrics.
- PCB board development proficiency using Altium and Cadence Allegro, material selection, and stack‑up review.
- Test automation and measurement data interpretation skills, including basic statistics and error sources.
- Interface design and programming (SPI, UART, UCI).
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, on‑site in Bangalore.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems, work well in teams, and drive results.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time‑management skills for on‑time project delivery.
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders.
