Job summary

Centum Electronics Ltd is seeking a Quality Engineer-RF Testing in Bengaluru to lead RF testing activities on TR modules and RF systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop test plans, perform detailed measurements, and drive corrective actions based on test data.

The role requires strong RF knowledge, hands-on equipment experience (network/spectrum analysers, power meters, signal generators), and a background in quality engineering within defense/space domains.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in RF testing, digital validation, or quality engineering.
• Exposure to defense/airborne/space projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform RF testing quality activities on TR modules/RF systems, including S-parameter measurements, power output, noise figure, phase noise, and linearity tests.
• Develop and execute test plans and procedures for the evaluation of TR modules/RF systems.
• Diagnose performance issues, identify root causes, and collaborate with design and manufacturing teams for corrective actions.
• Perform failure analysis on defective modules and components.
• Verify and automate test scripts to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
• Calibration of Test system and Test Equipments.

What You'll Do (Job Role)

• Perform RF testing Quality activities on TR modules/RF systems, including S-parameter measurements, power output, noise figure, phase noise, and linearity tests.
• Good knowledge on test equipment such as network analysers, spectrum analysers, power meters, and signal generators.
• Develop and execute test plan and procedures for the evaluation of TR modules/RF systems.
• Diagnose performance issues, identify root causes, and collaborate with design and manufacturing teams for corrective actions.
• Perform failure analysis on defective modules and components.
• Verification and validation automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
• Test system and ATE validation and verification
• Test setup verification, Test witnessing and Co-ordination with certification team and certification.
• Integrate test equipment with software tools for data acquisition, logging, and analysis.
• Analyse test results, create detailed reports, and track key performance metrics and trends, generating statistical data to aid in decision-making.
• Work with cross-functional teams (Design, Production, Customer) to ensure TR modules/RF systems meet both design and production requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, providing feedback based on test data and empirical findings.
• Conduct environmental stress screening (ESS) and handling of burn in and temperature chambers.
• Knowledge of understanding and preparing QAP, QTP, FTP, ATP, and test documentation.
• Calibration of Test system and Test Equipments.

Who You Are:

• Strong understanding of RF principles, microwave theory, and RF measurement techniques.
• Hands-on proficiency with RF test equipment, including network analysers, spectrum analysers, power meters, and signal generators.
• Experience or working knowledge of TR module testing and manufacturing processes will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of quality and compliance standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ESS, and MIL standards.
• Additional knowledge of DO-254, DO-178, and ARP4754A requirements is desirable.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & communication engineering or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years
• Experience in RF testing, digital validation, or quality engineering
• Exposure to defense / airborne / space projects preferred
