Job summary

SYSTRA in India is seeking a Resident Engineer- E&M to oversee site installations including traction power, ventilation, HVAC and fire protection. The role focuses on strict adherence to Good for Construction drawings and technical specs, with close coordination with civil and signaling works.

The candidate should have a Graduate Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent, with 10+ years experience for graduates or 15+ years for diploma holders in tunnel E&M execution.

• 10+ years experience for graduates; 15+ years for diploma holders.
• 10+ years relevant experience in execution/supervision of tunnel E&M projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of site installations including traction power, ventilation, HVAC and fire protection systems.
• Ensure all site work follows Good for Construction drawings and specs.
• Coordinate interface with civil works and signaling to avoid on-site clashes.
• Validate material quality on delivery and perform stage-wise inspections of electrical/mechanical assets.
• Verify on-site quantities for contractor payment certifications.
• Witness SATs and ensure as-built drawings are accurate for handover.

Currently, we are bidding for Railways projects across India. The position of Resident Engineer- E&M is the key position in these BIDs.

Missions/Main Duties

• Technical Oversight: Direct supervision of site installations, including Traction power, Tunnel Ventilation (TVS), HVAC (ECS), and Fire Protection systems.
• Drawing Compliance: Ensuring all site work strictly follows the "Good for Construction" (GFC) drawings and technical specifications.
• Interface Coordination: Aligning E&M activities with civil works (sleeves/conduits) and S&T (power requirements) to avoid on-site clashes.
• Quality & Inspection: Validating material quality upon delivery and conducting stage-wise inspections of electrical and mechanical assets.
• Measurement & Billing: Verifying work quantities on-site for contractor payment certifications.
• Testing & Handover: Witnessing Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), managing snag lists, and ensuring "As-Built" drawings are accurate for final handover

Profile/Skills

• Graduate Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/Electronics Engineering OR a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics Engineering.
• 10+ years for Graduate Degree holders or 15+ years for Diploma holders of total experience
• Relevant experience required 10 years for graduate Degree or 12 years for Diploma holders in execution/supervision of tunnel E&M project.
