Job summary

SYSTRA India, a global engineering and consulting group, invites applications for a Resident Engineer - E&M on rail/tunnel projects.

You will supervise site installations (traction power, TVS, HVAC/ECS, Fire Protection), ensure GFC drawings compliance, coordinate with civil works and S&T, and lead quality inspections and surveys. The role demands 10+ years for graduates or 15+ years for diploma holders in tunnel E&M execution and supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate Degree holders: 10+ years total experience in execution/supervision of tunnel E&M projects.
• Diploma holders: 15+ years total experience in execution/supervision of tunnel E&M projects.
• Relevant tunnel E&M execution/supervision experience required.

Responsibilities

• Technical Oversight of site installations including Traction power, Tunnel Ventilation (TVS), HVAC (ECS), and Fire Protection systems.
• Drawing Compliance: ensure site work follows Good for Construction drawings and specs.
• Interface Coordination: align E&M with civil works and S&T to avoid on-site clashes.
• Quality & Inspection: validate material quality and conduct stage-wise inspections of electrical and mechanical assets.
• Measurement & Billing: verify on-site quantities for contractor payment certifications.
• Testing & Handover: witness SAT, manage snag lists, ensure As-Built drawings are accurate for handover.

Currently, we are bidding for Railways projects across India. The position of Resident Engineer- E&M is the key position in these BIDs.

Missions/Main Duties

• Technical Oversight: Direct supervision of site installations, including Traction power, Tunnel Ventilation (TVS), HVAC (ECS), and Fire Protection systems.
• Drawing Compliance: Ensuring all site work strictly follows the "Good for Construction" (GFC) drawings and technical specifications.
• Interface Coordination: Aligning E&M activities with civil works (sleeves/conduits) and S&T (power requirements) to avoid on-site clashes.
• Quality & Inspection: Validating material quality upon delivery and conducting stage-wise inspections of electrical and mechanical assets.
• Measurement & Billing: Verifying work quantities on-site for contractor payment certifications.
• Testing & Handover: Witnessing Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), managing snag lists, and ensuring "As-Built" drawings are accurate for final handover.

Profile/Skills

• Graduate Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/Electronics Engineering OR a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics Engineering.
• 10+ years for Graduate Degree holders or 15+ years for Diploma holders of total experience
• Relevant experience required 10 years for graduate Degree or 12 years for Diploma holders in execution/supervision of tunnel E&M project.
