Job summary

VP Group – VP Automobiles seeks an experienced R&D Mechanical Engineer to join the Agriculture Division. You will design, develop, test, and support agricultural equipment, implements, and tractor trolleys throughout the product life cycle.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in agricultural machinery and a strong understanding of mechanical design, fabrication, and production requirements. Proficiency in CAD tools and ability to read engineering drawings is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in agricultural equipment/implements industry.
• Strong mechanical design fundamentals and production awareness.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop agricultural equipment, implements, and tractor trolleys.
• Develop new products and modify existing products based on market and customer requirements.
• Prepare and review 2D/3D drawings, BOMs, specifications, and manufacturing drawings.
• Coordinate with production, quality, purchase, and vendors for successful product development.
• Conduct product trials, testing, validation, and performance evaluation.
• Ensure designs meet strength, safety, reliability, and manufacturing standards.

Job Overview

VP Group – VP Automobiles is looking for an experienced R&D Mechanical Engineer to join our Agriculture Division. The candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing, production support, and continuous improvement of agricultural equipment, implements, and trolleys.

The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in the agricultural machinery/implements industry and a strong understanding of mechanical design, fabrication, manufacturing processes, and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop agricultural equipment, implements, and tractor trolleys.
• Develop new products and modify existing products based on market and customer requirements.
• Prepare and review 2D/3D drawings, BOMs, specifications, and manufacturing drawings.
• Select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with production, quality, purchase, and vendors for successful product development.
• Conduct product trials, testing, validation, and performance evaluation.
• Identify and resolve design, fabrication, assembly, and production‑related issues.
• Improve existing products for cost reduction, durability, performance, and ease of manufacturing.
• Provide technical support to the production team during new product development and regular production.
• Prepare prototypes and coordinate fabrication/assembly activities.
• Analyze field/customer feedback and implement necessary product improvements.
• Ensure designs meet required strength, safety, reliability, and manufacturing standards.
• Support production in reducing rejection, rework, and manufacturing difficulties.
• Coordinate with suppliers and fabricators for development of new components and assemblies.
• Maintain proper technical documentation and revision control.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals.
• Practical experience in agricultural equipment / agricultural implements / tractor trolleys.
• Knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, sheet metal, and assembly processes.
• Good understanding of material selection and mechanical components.
• Ability to read and prepare engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD / SolidWorks / Creo or similar CAD software.
• Understanding of DFM/DFA, BOM preparation, tolerance, and production drawings.
• Strong problem‑solving and product‑development skills.
• Ability to work closely with production and manufacturing teams.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in development or production of products such as:

• Tractor trolleys
• Agricultural trailers
• Agricultural implements
• Cultivators
• Ploughs
• Disc harrows
• Rotavators
• Seeders / planters
• Farm machinery
• Tractor‑mounted and tractor‑operated equipment
• Fabricated agricultural equipment

Qualification

B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

Relevant experience in the Agriculture Division / Agricultural Equipment / Agricultural Implements industry is mandatory.

Candidates without relevant agricultural equipment/implements industry experience are requested not to apply.
