Kapxha Dynamics is seeking a Junior R&D Engineer passionate about robotics, UAVs, and autonomous systems in Jaipur. You will build, test and improve intelligent edge AI across edge devices and UAV platforms, working hands-on with C++/Python, OpenCV and embedded Linux.
You will contribute to SITL/HITL testing, develop software for Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson, and collaborate with the R&D team to move concepts from simulation to real-world deployment.
We're looking for a Junior R&D Engineer who is excited about robotics, UAVs, AI and autonomous systems. You will work closely with our R&D team to build, test and improve intelligent autonomous systems across UAVs and edge-computing platforms. The role involves hands-on work across C++/Python, computer vision, ArduPilot, MAVLink, embedded Linux and AI on edge devices. This is a highly hands-on role where you will be expected to learn quickly, experiment, build prototypes and take systems from simulation to real-world testing.
Develop and maintain software for Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson and other edge-computing platforms. Build and integrate C++ and Python modules for autonomous systems. Work with ArduPilot and MAVLink for vehicle control, telemetry and mission execution. Develop computer vision pipelines using OpenCV and deep-learning models. Assist in deploying and optimizing AI models on Jetson/edge platforms using ONNX/TensorRT. Develop and test autonomous behaviours including navigation, waypoint following, decision-making and mission planning. Assist in developing multi-vehicle and swarm behaviours. Interface with sensors, flight controllers and peripherals using UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, PWM and Ethernet. Work with telemetry and communication systems and troubleshoot real-world connectivity issues. Build and test systems using SITL/HITL and simulation environments before field deployment. Conduct field testing, analyse logs and telemetry, identify failures and improve system performance. Write clean, documented and testable code and maintain technical documentation. Collaborate with senior engineers to prototype and evaluate new autonomy and AI capabilities.
Programming: Basic to intermediate proficiency in C++ and Python. Understanding of OOP, data structures and algorithms. Familiarity with Git, Linux and CMake.
Robotics & Embedded Systems: Basic understanding of embedded systems and Linux. Familiarity with Raspberry Pi, Jetson or similar platforms. Understanding of serial communication and hardware interfaces such as UART, I2C, SPI or CAN.
UAV & Autonomy: Basic understanding of UAV systems, flight controllers or robotics. Familiarity with ArduPilot/PX4, MAVLink or similar platforms is preferred. Understanding of basic concepts such as PID control, navigation, sensors and state estimation.
Computer Vision & AI: Familiarity with OpenCV. Basic understanding of machine learning/deep learning. Exposure to object detection models such as YOLO is a plus. Interest in deploying AI models on edge devices.
Testing & Development: Ability to debug software and hardware issues systematically. Familiarity with SITL/HITL, simulation or robotics testing environments. Basic understanding of unit/integration testing and technical documentation.
Experience with ArduPilot, PX4, ROS/ROS2 or Gazebo. Experience with Jetson and TensorRT/ONNX. Exposure to UAV projects, robotics competitions or autonomous systems. Experience with computer vision or real-time AI. Exposure to swarm robotics or multi-agent systems. Basic understanding of LLMs/NLP and AI-based command interfaces. Experience with electronics, sensors, flight controllers or drones. Academic/research projects involving robotics, AI, computer vision or embedded systems.
