Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Registered Nurse role based in Chennai. The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care, including assessment, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and supporting daily living activities in accordance with clinical protocols. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring adherence to safety, infection control, and quality standards. The role involves educating patients and families on treatment plans, post-discharge care, and health maintenance, while offering compassionate support. The Registered Nurse is expected to participate in shift duties, respond to emergencies, and contribute to continuous improvement in patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing qualification (GNM, B.Sc Nursing, or equivalent) and active registration with the appropriate nursing council.
- Proven experience in clinical nursing within hospital or healthcare settings, preferably in medical-surgical, ICU, or emergency departments.
- Strong knowledge of nursing procedures, patient assessment, medication administration, and infection control practices.
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate patient documentation and use hospital information systems as required.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Commitment to ethical patient care, confidentiality, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Emergency response skills and basic life support (BLS); advanced life support (ALS) certification is an advantage.
- Organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple patients and prioritize care safely.
- Prior experience in Chennai-based or similar urban healthcare environments is a plus.
