Job summary

ABB Smart Power invites a senior firmware engineer to lead design and implementation of firmware for power electronic converters and communication modules. You will ensure robust cybersecurity, unit and system testing, and collaborate across disciplines to translate requirements into concrete firmware specifications.

We seek an expert with 8+ years in control firmware on microcontrollers/DSPs, strong C/C++/Python skills, and familiarity with Modbus, CAN, EtherCAT, and digital modeling tools like

Qualifications

• M.Tech./B.Tech. in Electrical, Power Electronic, Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, or comparable field.
• At least 8 years of experience designing control firmware for power electronic products (UPS, BESS, Renewable energy).
• Designed firmware for microcontrollers/DSPs and knowledge of power converters and distribution.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement firmware for Power Electronic Converters and communication modules.
• Conduct unit, integration, and system testing to validate software performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with system architects and hardware/software engineers to translate requirements into firmware specs.
• Contribute to IP creation and share knowledge with global engineering teams.
