Job summary

ABB’s Nashik-based R&D role focuses on mechanical design and development within Distribution Solutions. You will contribute to concepts, requirements gathering, and design, then implement and test solutions across mechanics, electronics, and software aspects.

You’ll work independently in a team, aiming to deliver robust, high-quality outcomes for medium voltage switchgear projects. The role requires hands-on prototyping, interpretation of technical drawings, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (full-time).
• 4–8 years of experience in design and development of mechanical parts and assemblies (sheet-metal, castings, machined parts, molded plastics).
• Hands-on prototyping, type testing, and interpreting technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Work as an independent contributor in R&D projects with limited supervision.
• Design, implement, integrate, test, and maintain mechanical concepts from requirements to deployment.
• Apply processes and standards, driving quality, time, scope, cost targets and addressing risks.
