Job summary

ABB in Nashik, India, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of vacuum interrupters for distribution solutions.

The role requires 8–12 years of experience, expertise in circuit breaker mechanisms, and strong CAD/PLM skills, with fluency in English.

This on-site position offers the opportunity to innovate, document results, and participate in IP generation within ABB's electrification business.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering (full-time).
• 8–12 years of experience in Design and Development of Vacuum Interrupters.
• Hands-on experience in Circuit breaker kinematic chain and mechanism concept development.
• Preparation of designs, drawings, BOM and associated procedures.

• Maintain recognized expertise by integrating latest developments in technologies, tools, and methodologies into your work.
• Finding new ways of solving problems by following your ideas, creating hypotheses, and defining ways to validate them.
• Documenting work results (designs, findings, etc.) to allow others to maintain and improve them.
• Understanding and initiating IP generation in your area and participating in the project IP strategy.
