Ss Ventures in Mumbai is seeking an R&D / NPD Engineer to lead development of power electronics for UPS, inverter and lithium battery systems. You will handle circuit design, testing, validation and productization, collaborating with firmware, mechanical and quality teams.

The role demands hands-on proficiency in power electronics, prototypes, and a strong debugging mindset to drive robust products for emerging energy storage solutions.

Qualifications

• 2-6 years of experience in Power Electronics R&D / NPD.
• Hands-on exposure to UPS, Inverter, power supplies and related circuits.
• Experience in circuit design, debugging, testing and product development.
• Knowledge of Lithium Battery / BMS / ESS / BESS is a plus.
• Strong understanding of power conversion technologies and switching devices.

Responsibilities

• Own the NPD cycle from concept to prototype development and validation.
• Design and develop power electronics circuits and systems for UPS/inverter products.
• Work on DC-DC, DC-AC, AC-DC converters, chargers and SMPS.
• Develop power stages using MOSFETs, IGBTs, diodes and related devices.
• Integrate Lithium Battery and BMS with UPS and inverter systems.
• Perform testing, debugging, failure analysis and performance optimization.
• Conduct functional, electrical, thermal, reliability and validation tests.
• Prepare BOMs, circuit docs, test reports and technical specs.
• Coordinate with Firmware, PCB Design, Mechanical, Testing, Production and Quality teams.
• Support prototype-to-production transfer and resolve early production issues.
• Analyze performance and field feedback for continuous improvement.

About the Role

We are looking for a technically strong R&D / NPD Engineer to join our team in Mumbai. The candidate will be responsible for developing and improving next-generation UPS, Inverter, and Lithium Battery-based power electronics products.

The role requires hands-on exposure to product development, circuit analysis, prototype testing, troubleshooting, and product validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on the complete New Product Development (NPD) cycle, from concept and prototype development to product validation.
• Design and develop power electronics circuits and systems for UPS and inverter applications.
• Work on DC-DC converters, DC-AC inverters, AC-DC converters, chargers, and SMPS.
• Develop and optimize power stages using MOSFETs, IGBTs, diodes, and other power semiconductor devices.
• Support integration of Lithium Battery and BMS with inverter and UPS systems.
• Perform circuit testing, debugging, failure analysis, and performance optimization.
• Conduct functional, electrical, thermal, reliability, and validation testing of prototypes.
• Identify design-related issues and implement suitable technical solutions.
• Prepare BOMs, circuit documentation, test reports, specifications, and technical development documents.
• Coordinate with Firmware, PCB Design, Mechanical, Testing, Production, and Quality teams.
• Support prototype-to-production transfer and resolve technical issues during initial production.
• Analyze product performance and customer/field feedback for continuous improvement.

Required Skills

• 2–6 years of experience in Power Electronics R&D / NPD.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of UPS, Inverters, Power Supplies, and Power Electronics.
• Experience in circuit design, debugging, testing, and product development.
• Knowledge of Lithium Battery / BMS / ESS / BESS will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of power conversion technologies and switching devices.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Practical experience with laboratory equipment and power electronics testing.

Qualification

B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Power Electronics, or a related discipline.

Compensation

5 LPA – 10 LPA, based on experience, technical expertise, relevant exposure, and performance.
