Job summary

ABB in Bengaluru, India, is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Electrical engineer to lead design and development of switchgear products for the Electrification Smart Buildings business. You will contribute to innovative solutions, perform complex calculations, and ensure compliance with industry standards while addressing customer needs.

The role reports to the R&D Manager LBL India and is based at Nelamangala, Bengaluru.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering from reputed institute.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in similar field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills enabling you to run multiple tasks simultaneously and meet targets and deadlines.
• Specify proper analytical methods which supports decision-making.
• Performs competitive bench marking in conjunction with product management.
• Experience designing and developing low voltage products like MCBs, RCCBs, (Protection Devices) will be an added advantage

• Design New Switchgear products & find creative design solutions to the problems.
• Investigate and undertake analysis on how to improve existing products.
• Undertake complex design calculations and analysis tasks.
• Research new product ideas and method.
• Ensuring components and sub-assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards.
• Experience designing and developing low voltage products like MCBs, RCCBs, (Protection Devices) will be an added advantage

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.
