Job summary

Nandha Constructions is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage estimation, measurements, and billing across ongoing projects in Bengaluru. The role requires interpreting multiple construction drawings and preparing BOQs, BBS, and cost analyses with attention to detail and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Experience in quantity surveying, construction estimation, BOQ preparation, billing, or commercial management.
• Strong ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
• Practical experience in preparing BBS and calculating reinforcement steel and concrete quantities.
• Good understanding of construction materials, measurement methods, rate analysis, and tender documentation.
• Experience in contractor billing, site measurements, variation assessment, and final account preparation.

Responsibilities

• Quantity Estimation Accuracy: verify initial quantities against drawings and scope.
• BBS Accuracy: ensure correct reinforcement diameters, cutting lengths, bar quantities, and weights.
• BOQ Completeness: identify and measure all required items.
• Tender Estimation Timeliness: submit complete take-offs and estimates by deadlines.
• Rate Analysis Accuracy: assess item-wise rates and cost breakdowns.
• Billing Accuracy: verify contractor measurements, interim bills, and final accounts.
• Variation Management: document and quantify changes in scope.
• Material Reconciliation: compare theoretical vs. actual consumption and investigate deviations.
• Cost Forecasting: provide reliable remaining quantity estimates and cost forecasts.
• Documentation Quality: maintain complete drawings, sheets, BBS, BOQs, and records.
• Commercial Protection: prevent duplicates, unsupported quantities, missing variations, and errors.
• Coordination Efficiency: communicate quantity changes and commercial implications to departments.

Role & responsibilities :

1. Quantity Estimation Accuracy: Accuracy of initial quantities against validated drawings and approved scope.
2. BBS Accuracy: Correct calculation of reinforcement diameters, cutting lengths, bar quantities, and steel weights.
3. BOQ Completeness: Identification and measurement of all required construction items.
4. Tender Estimation Timeliness: Submission of complete quantity take-offs and estimates within deadlines.
5. Rate Analysis Accuracy: Reliability of item-wise construction rates and cost breakdowns.
6. Billing Accuracy: Accuracy of contractor measurements, interim bills, and final account assessments.
7. Variation Management: Timely identification, quantification, and documentation of changes in scope.
8. Material Reconciliation: Accuracy of theoretical versus actual material consumption and investigation of unexplained deviations.
9. Cost Forecasting: Reliability of remaining quantity estimates and final project cost forecasts.
10. Documentation Quality: Completeness and traceability of drawings, measurement sheets, BBS, BOQs, and commercial records.
11. Commercial Protection: Prevention of duplicate billing, unsupported quantities, missed variations, and avoidable measurement errors.
12. Coordination Efficiency: Timely communication of quantity changes and commercial implications to relevant departments.

Preferred candidate profile :

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in quantity surveying, construction estimation, BOQ preparation, billing, or commercial management.
• Strong ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
• Practical experience in preparing BBS and calculating reinforcement steel and concrete quantities.
• Good understanding of construction materials, measurement methods, rate analysis, and tender documentation.
• Experience in contractor billing, site measurements, variation assessment, and final account preparation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with estimation software, quantity take-off tools, BIM, or Revit will be an added advantage.
• Strong numerical, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, site teams, and management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict tendering and billing deadlines.
