Job summary

Yogayatan Ports in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor Structures & Roads to manage quantity measurement, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, billing and contract-related activities for road and structural infrastructure projects.

The role requires strong knowledge of highway works, bridges, culverts, retaining structures and related civil works, with responsibilities spanning tender review, rate analysis, cost forecasting and commercial evaluation.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• Typically 12–15 years of relevant experience for a mid-level role; senior roles may require substantially more infrastructure/QS experience.
• Experience in highway, bridge, structures, EPC/HAM or infrastructure projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review IFC/tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, contracts, and scope documents.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and BOQs for road and structural works.
• Measure and verify executed quantities at site for contractor/subcontractor billing.
• Prepare and review RA Bills, interim payment certificates, final bills, and measurement sheets.
• Estimate quantities for earthwork, embankment, subgrade, pavement, drainage, bridges and RCC/PSC structures.
• Carry out rate analysis, cost estimation, budgeting and cost forecasting.
• Coordinate with design, planning, procurement, construction, billing and project-management teams.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor Structures & Roads to manage quantity measurement, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, billing, commercial controls, and contract-related activities for road and structural infrastructure projects. The role requires strong knowledge of highway works, bridges, culverts, retaining structures, and associated civil works.

Location : Hyderabad

Key Responsibilities

• Review IFC/tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, contracts, and scope documents.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and BOQs for road and structural works.
• Measure and verify executed quantities at site for contractor/subcontractor billing.
• Prepare and review RA Bills, interim payment certificates, final bills, and measurement sheets.
• Estimate quantities for:
• Earthwork, embankment and excavation
• Subgrade, GSB, WMM and bituminous pavement
• Drainage, shoulders and road furniture
• Major/minor bridges and culverts
• RCC/PSC structures
• Piling, foundations, substructures and superstructures
• Retaining walls, RE walls and approach slabs
• Crash barriers, bearings and expansion joints
• Carry out rate analysis, cost estimation, budgeting and cost forecasting.
• Track BOQ quantities versus actual quantities and identify quantity/cost variances.
• Prepare and evaluate variations, extra items, deviation statements and new rates.
• Review contractor/subcontractor claims and provide commercial recommendations.
• Maintain variation, payment, quantity and cost-control registers.
• Support tendering activities including quantity estimation, bid comparison and commercial evaluation.
• Coordinate with design, planning, procurement, construction, billing and project-management teams.
• Verify quantities against drawings, site measurements and approved revisions.
• Monitor material consumption and project expenditure against budget.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, quantity reconciliation and commercial MIS.
• Identify scope gaps, design changes and commercial risks and communicate them to management.
• Support preparation of final accounts and contract close-out documentation.

Required Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• Typically 1215 years of relevant experience for a mid-level role; senior roles may require substantially more infrastructure/QS experience.
• Experience in highway, bridge, structures, EPC/HAM or infrastructure projects preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of quantity surveying, measurement and estimation.
• Good understanding of MoRTH, IRC and relevant IS specifications.
• Knowledge of IS 1200 measurement principles.
• Strong MS Excel skills, including quantity reconciliation and cost-control sheets.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and quantity take-off/estimation software such as CostX, PlanSwift or equivalent is advantageous.
• Understanding of FIDIC/contract administration, variations, claims and payment procedures is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret GADs, structural drawings, cross-sections, L-sections and highway drawings.
