Job summary

Sterlite Power is seeking a QA/Materials specialist to ensure compliance with IS/IEC/ASTM standards and to drive supplier quality. You will conduct routine material testing, supplier audits, and development of new materials while leveraging SAP to manage PRs and quality clearances.

Key duties include tear-down analysis of cables, mechanical testing during inspection, health monitoring of equipment, NABL ISO 17025 familiarity, and applying QC tools for RCA/CAPA.

Qualifications

• Expertise in raw material testing and standards knowledge.
• Clear and concise communication with internal teams and external vendors.
• Bachelor's degree or related field.

Responsibilities

• Ensure knowledge of IS/IEC/ASTM standards applicable.
• Test raw materials, steel drums, pine spools, packing materials, etc.
• Audit suppliers at their end.
• Monitor and push supplier improvements (kaizens).
• Develop new materials/grades/suppliers.
• SAP proficiency for PR, QM/QP/GRN clearance and codes.
• Tear down analysis of cables.
• Mechanical testing of cables during inspection.
• Monitor equipment health to prevent breakdowns.
• Know ISO 17025 NABL requirements.
• Apply QC tools to identify RCA/CAPA for defects.

Role & responsibilities

1. Ensure all knowledge of IS/IEC/ASTM relevant standards applicable

2. Conduct routine testing of Raw materials/ Steel drums/ Pine spools/Packing materials etc

3. To conduct audits at supplier end

4. To upgrade suppliers by closely monitoring, kaizens/improvements at their end

5. Development of new materials/ grades/suppliers

6. Having good knowledge of SAP to raise PR, QM/QP/GRN clearance, codes creation etc

7. Tear down analysis of cables

8. Mechanical testing of cables during inspection

9. To closely monitor health-check up of equipments to avoid any break down

10. Having knowledge of ISO 17025 of NABL

11. Having good knowledge of QC tools to identify RCA,CAPA for any defect
