Job summary

Cyient is seeking a quality engineer with 4–5 years of experience to drive product quality and process improvement in Pune. You will interpret GD&T and drawings, maintain QPLs, perform PFMEA, DPARs, and root-cause analysis, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing and supplier teams. You will analyze data in Power BI and maintain SAP quality records.

The role requires strong communication in English and the ability to work independently with minimal guidance on quality projects.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in Quality.
• Ability to interpret GD&T, drawings and models.
• Proficient in PFMEA and risk assessment.
• Experience with DPARs and QPLs.
• Proficient in root-cause tools (G8D, 3L5Y).
• Knowledge of SAP quality records and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate product quality requirements from drawings and models.
• Prepare, review and maintain Quality Plan Levels (QPLs).
• Conduct DPARs and address quality requirements.
• Develop PFMEA documents and risk controls.
• Identify defects and drive process improvements.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Role & responsibilities

• A candidate with a minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in Quality.
• Interpret GD&T, engineering drawings, schematics and product models to evaluate product quality requirements.
• Independently prepare, review and maintain Quality Plan Levels (QPLs).
• Conduct Design Process Assembly Reviews (DPARs) and ensure quality requirements are addressed.
• Develop, review and update Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) documents.
• Apply quality principles and standard quality tools to identify risks, defects and opportunities for process improvement.
• Perform root-cause analysis using tools such as, G8D, 3L5Y analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Work with engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality and production teams to resolve quality issues.
• Analyze quality data and prepare dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Use Creo View to review product models, drawings and engineering information.
• Use SAP to maintain quality records, track issues and support quality-related transactions.
• Monitor process performance and ensure compliance with applicable quality standards and internal procedures.
• Support continuous-improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects, rework, and manufacturing variation.
• Maintain accurate quality documentation and support internal, customer, and supplier audits.
• Good English communication and the ability to handle the project independently with minimal guidance.
