  • Ensure products meet approved drawings, samples, BOM, dimensions and specs.
  • Check critical dimensions, alignment, squareness, level, gaps, joints, edges, and surface finish.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Quality Engineer for our furniture manufacturing factory who has hands-on knowledge of metal and wood fabrication processes. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that raw materials, manufacturing processes, and finished furniture products meet the required quality standards, approved drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections of furniture and fixture products.
  • Inspect and monitor metal fabrication and wood fabrication processes.
  • Check raw materials such as MS/SS sheets, pipes, sections, plywood, MDF, particle board, laminates, veneers, hardware, and other materials.
  • Ensure products are manufactured as per approved drawings, samples, BOM, dimensions, and specifications.
  • Check critical dimensions, alignment, squareness, level, gaps, joints, edges, surface finish, and overall workmanship.
  • Inspect the quality of welding, joints, hardware fitting, hinges, channels, handles, screws, brackets, and other fittings.
  • Prepare and maintain Quality Inspection Reports, Check Sheets, Rejection Reports, and Corrective Action Reports.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues and ensure effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure proper segregation and identification of OK, Rework, and Rejected materials/products.
  • Coordinate with Production, Design, Purchase, Stores, and Project Teams for resolution of quality-related issues.
  • Ensure finished products are properly inspected before dispatch.
  • Support the development and quality inspection of new furniture designs and prototypes.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of quality inspections.
Required Technical Skills
  • Strong practical knowledge of furniture manufacturing and fabrication.
  • Good understanding of metal and wood fabrication processes.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, furniture drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
  • Knowledge of common defects in wood and metal furniture manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of welding and fabrication quality requirements.
Preferred Candidate Profile
  • 3-5 years of experience in furniture manufacturing, retail fixtures, shop fittings, interior fixtures, display units, or similar manufacturing industries.
  • Should have good coordination skills with production workers, supervisors, and factory management.
  • Good communication, analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • Candidates with experience in metal + wood furniture/fixture manufacturing will be preferred.
