Job summary

Weekday AI is seeking a quality inspector for a client in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, with 3–5 years in PEB or heavy structure manufacturing. You will perform stage-wise inspections across raw materials, fabrication, welding, painting and finished products.

You will review MT Cs, WPS/PQRs, inspection and NDT reports, and testing documentation, coordinate with clients and labs, and ensure ISO and QAP quality requirements are met. Diploma or BE in mechanical engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/BTech in mechanical related field.
• 3–5 years experience in PEB or heavy structure manufacturing.
• Strong reading of engineering drawings.
• Welding inspection and NDT knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Stage-wise inspection across materials, fabrication, welding, painting and finished products per approved drawings and QA plans.
• Review MTCs, WPS/PQR, inspection reports, NDT and testing documentation for compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, TPI agencies, consultants and testing laboratories for inspections and approvals.
• Identify and resolve non-conformances and enforce ISO/QAP quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Stage-Wise Inspection: Conduct stage-wise inspections across incoming raw materials, fabrication processes, welding quality, painting, and final finished products in accordance with approved drawings, Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), and applicable standards.
• Document Review & Compliance: Review Material Test Certificates (MTCs), Welding Procedure Specifications / Procedure Qualification Records (WPS/PQR), inspection reports, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) reports, and mechanical testing documentation to verify compliance with project specifications. External Coordination: Coordinate directly with clients, Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies, consultants, and testing laboratories for inspections, physical testing, quality documentation, and formal approvals.
• Quality & ISO Standards: Identify, track, and resolve quality non-conformances, implement effective corrective actions, and strictly enforce compliance with ISO and project-specific quality requirements.

Candidate Requirements

• Educational Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Fabrication Technology OR B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering
• Work Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in PEB (Pre-Engineered Buildings) or Heavy Structure Manufacturing.
• Technical Skills & Competencies: Strong expertise in Engineering Drawing Reading.
• Proficiency in Welding Inspection and working knowledge of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) techniques.
• Solid background in Raw Material Inspection and Mechanical Testing procedures.
• Knowledge of ISO quality management systems and QAP compliance. Industry Preference Manufacturing / PEB Industry
