Job summary

About the Role

They are looking for an experienced QA/QC Inspector to ensure the quality of raw materials, manufacturing processes, fabricated components, and finished products. The candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections, maintaining quality records, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring that products meet the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials, manufacturing processes, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Set quality standards and prepare approved samples for reference.
• Maintain the calibration schedule for measuring instruments and ensure timely calibration through NABL-accredited laboratories.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using measuring tools such as Vernier calipers, measuring tapes, and dry film thickness meters.
• Perform non-destructive testing (NDT), including Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), and hammer tests on fabricated components.
• Check the production and readiness status of components against the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and update the Production Manager.
• Approve the quality of components before finished products are dispatched from the factory.
• Maintain in-process inspection reports and final inspection records.
• Conduct quality training on welding, hot-dip galvanizing, powder coating, epoxy coating, and enamel painting procedures.
• Conduct periodic quality audits at manufacturing plants and report non-conformities and areas for improvement to senior management.
• Identify quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent them from recurring.
• Visit fabrication and finishing vendors to inspect their work, monitor performance, and suggest improvements.
• Prepare monthly quality reports (MIS) for management.
• Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) as per ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Prepare and implement Quality Assurance Plans, Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and Material Test Plans.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• ASNT Level II certification in DPT and MPT.

Required Experience

• Experience working in a manufacturing industry or medium-sized fabrication plant as a Fabrication Engineer.
• Experience in Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA).
• Practical knowledge of fabrication inspection, welding quality, surface finishing, dimensional inspection, and non-destructive testing.
