Job summary

Weekday AI (YC W21) is seeking a Quality Inspector with 3–5 years of experience in PEB or heavy structure manufacturing to perform stage-wise inspections and ensure compliance with QA plans and ISO standards.

You will review MTCs, WPS/PQR, and non-destructive testing reports, coordinate with clients and external labs, and drive corrective actions for non-conformances. The role is based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, and is full-time on-site.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3–5 years hands-on experience in PEB or Heavy Structure Manufacturing.
• Strong expertise in reading engineering drawings and NDT techniques.

Responsibilities

• Stage-wise inspections across materials, fabrication, welding, painting, and finished products as per QA plans.
• Review MTCS, WPS/PQR, inspection and NDT reports to verify specs.
• Coordinate with clients, TPI agencies, consultants and labs for inspections and approvals.
• Identify and resolve quality non-conformances and ensure ISO/QAP compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Stage-Wise Inspection:

Conduct stage-wise inspections across incoming raw materials, fabrication processes, welding quality, painting, and final finished products in accordance with approved drawings, Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), and applicable standards.

Document Review & Compliance:

Review Material Test Certificates (MTCs), Welding Procedure Specifications / Procedure Qualification Records (WPS/PQR), inspection reports, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) reports, and mechanical testing documentation to verify compliance with project specifications. External Coordination: Coordinate directly with clients, Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies, consultants, and testing laboratories for inspections, physical testing, quality documentation, and formal approvals.

Quality & ISO Standards:

Identify, track, and resolve quality non-conformances, implement effective corrective actions, and strictly enforce compliance with ISO and project-specific quality requirements.

Candidate Requirements

Educational Qualification : Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Fabrication Technology OR B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering

Work Experience : 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in PEB (Pre-Engineered Buildings) or Heavy Structure Manufacturing.

Technical Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in Engineering Drawing Reading.

Proficiency in Welding Inspection and working knowledge of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) techniques.

Solid background in Raw Material Inspection and Mechanical Testing procedures.

Knowledge of ISO quality management systems and QAP compliance. Industry Preference Manufacturing / PEB Industry
