Job summary

Usha Dugar is seeking an experienced Quality Control Engineer to ensure quality compliance across the manufacturing process, from incoming material inspection to final component release. Responsibilities

  • Carry out incoming inspection of raw materials, bought-out items and job-work components received at the factory.
  • Verify incoming materials against supplier invoices/challans, purchase specifications, drawings, material grades, dimensions and quantities.
  • Ensure that the actual material received tallies with the specifications and quantities mentioned in the invoice/challan.
  • Verify raw material dimensions, material specifications and relevant material/test certificates wherever applicable.
  • Perform stage-wise inspection during manufacturing to ensure components conform to drawings and tolerances.
  • Inspect components after machining operations (CNC turning/milling, conventional machining, grinding).
  • Prevent defective or non-conforming components from proceeding to the next production stage.
  • Carry out 100% or sampling inspection, as specified, of finished components before dispatch clearance.
  • Verify critical dimensions, tolerances, profiles, bores, depths, lengths and diameters per drawings.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports and QC records for incoming, in-process and finished components.
  • Identify, segregate and report rejected components and coordinate with production for correction or rework.
  • Maintain traceability and status of inspected components.
  • Coordinate with Production, Stores, Purchase and Management regarding quality issues and corrective actions.
  • Ensure QC-approved material is cleared for dispatch to customers.
  • Maintain measuring instruments and ensure calibration status and records.
  • Support investigation of customer complaints and dimensional deviations when required.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Engineer responsible for ensuring quality compliance at every stage of the manufacturing process from incoming raw material inspection and in-process inspection to final inspection of finished components.

The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of engineering drawings, dimensional inspection, tolerances and measuring instruments with prior experience in a mechanical engineering or equipment design and manufacturing.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • * Clearly identify, segregate and report rejected/non-conforming components and coordinate with the production team for correction or rework.
  • * Maintain proper traceability of inspected components and inspection status.
  • * Coordinate with Production, Stores, Purchase and Management regarding quality issues and corrective actions.
  • * Ensure that only QC-approved material is cleared for dispatch to customers.
  • * Maintain measuring instruments properly and ensure their calibration status is valid and records are maintained.
  • * Support investigation of customer complaints, dimensional deviations and manufacturing quality issues whenever required.
Measuring Instrument Experience

The candidate must have strong hands-on experience in using precision measuring and inspection instruments, including:

  • * Outside Micrometer
  • * Inside Micrometer
  • * Vernier Caliper
  • * Bore Gauge / Dial Bore Gauge
  • * Depth Micrometer
  • * Height Gauge
  • * Dial Indicator / Dial Test Indicator
  • * Slip Gauges and other precision measuring instruments

The candidate should be capable of independently selecting and using the appropriate measuring instrument depending upon the dimension, tolerance and accuracy required on the engineering drawing.

Technical Skills Required
  • * Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
  • * Good understanding of dimensional tolerances, limits and fits.
  • * Practical knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes.
  • * Ability to inspect precision-machined components independently.
  • * Knowledge of basic GD&T will be preferred.
  • * Ability to prepare clear and accurate inspection/QC reports.
  • * Understanding of calibration and proper handling of measuring instruments.
  • * Basic computer knowledge, including MS Excel and record keeping, is required.
Experience Requirements
  • * Minimum 3–4 years of relevant Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • * Experience should preferably be from mechanical machinery manufacturing, precision engineering, machine components, CNC machining or similar engineering industries.
  • * Candidates having only theoretical QC knowledge without practical shop-floor inspection experience will not be preferred.
  • * Candidate must be comfortable working directly on the shop floor and taking independent responsibility for inspection and quality clearance.
