Qualifications

• Experience supporting a Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong CAPA and root-cause analysis capability (8D/5-Whys/Fishbone).
• Proficient in quality documentation and adherence to SOPs.
• Exposure to ISO 9001:2015 and BRCGS Packaging standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Quality Manager on day-to-day activities of Quality function.
• Direct a team of shift QC Inspectors to implement SOPs and quality checks.
• Review and countersign shift reports to communicate quality issues between shifts and production.
• Master folder study to ensure smooth production execution and coordinate with sales/back-office.
• Review customer specifications including shade cards for proper job execution.
• Own CAPA workflow; conduct root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Whys, Fishbone).
• Monitor FG inventory for non-moving stock due to quality issues; prepare CAPA scrap notes.
• Coordinate with Sales for actions on customer complaints; perform customer visits as needed.
• Prepare SOPs for testing equipment in Quality department.
• Prepare documentation for audits per ISO 9001:2015, BRCGS Packaging and internal SOPs.
• Prepare daily non-conformance logs and coordinate corrective actions with production.
• Provide training to QA and production teams on COAs and documentation requirements.
• Train teams to reduce internal waste and customer complaints.
• Compile quality performance data for management (COPQ, rejection rates, complaints).
• Enforce a calibration schedule for measuring devices and log compliance.

Job description

This role will support the Quality Manager in driving day-to-day quality operations, leading shift QC teams, ensuring adherence to SOPs and customer specifications, and maintaining compliance with ISO/BRCGS standards. It will also focus on CAPA and root-cause analysis, customer complaint resolution, quality documentation, calibration, training, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, waste and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)

Responsibilities:

• Assist to Quality Manager/ HOD quality on day-to-day activities of Quality function.
• Direct a team of shift QC Inspectors to ensure implementation of internal SOPs and quality checks. Ensure the quality checks are performed as per sampling plan, and material is cleared on time physically as well as through SAP.
• Review and countersign shift reports to guarantee that ongoing quality issues, HOLD batches, are communicated seamlessly between night and day crews and with production team for ensuring defect free material pass to the customer.
• Master folder study on daily basis to ensure smooth execution of all jobs during production. Proactively highlight any concern in new jobs to ensure first time right job execution. Coordinate with sales and back-office team for timely correction on master folders.
• Review of customer specifications including shade cards for ensuring execution of jobs as per customer requirement.
• Own the Corrective and Preventive Action workflow. Utilize structured root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Whys, Fishbone diagrams) to document deviations and complaints.
• Monitor the FG inventory to flag non-moving FG stock because of Quality issues and communicate the same to all stakeholders accordingly. Prepare the scrap note with CAPA to remove nonmoving inventory from FG stock.
• Coordinate with Sales team and customer for taking actions on customer complaints. Customer visits (proactively as well as to attend any concern raised by customer) so that any quality-related challenges could be addressed effectively.
• Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for every testing equipment of Quality department.
• Prepare documentation related to Quality function for different audits inline as per different quality standards ISO 9001:2015, BRCGS Packaging etc. and internal SOPs
• Prepare daily non-conformance logs classifying defects and coordinate with production team for taking corrective actions on it.
• Training to QA teammates regarding the criticality of COAs and specific documentation requirement by customer.
• Proactive training to Quality and production team for reducing internal waste and customer complaints.
• Compile quality performance data as per the requirements of top management. Prepare monthly charts tracking cost of poor Quality (COPQ), internal rejection rates, customer complaints etc.
• Enforce a calibration schedule for all measuring devices (spectrophotometers, GSM, moisture meters, rub testers, UTM etc) and log compliance.
