Job summary

Varun Group Of Companies in Rajkot, Gujarat is seeking a Quality Engineer – Foundry with strong hands-on experience in CI Casting. The role focuses on ensuring product quality, process control, defect prevention, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement across foundry operations.

Key responsibilities include monitoring quality parameters in CI Casting, inspecting materials and castings, conducting root cause analysis, maintaining control plans, and supporting customer complaints and 8D

Qualifications

• CI Casting / Cast Iron Foundry experience is MUST.
• Strong knowledge of Foundry Quality and Casting Defects.
• Good understanding of Melting, Moulding, Core Making, Pouring and Fettling processes.
• Knowledge of RCA, 8D, CAPA and 7 QC Tools.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA and PPAP.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle customer complaints and quality improvement projects.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control quality parameters across CI Casting / Foundry processes.
• Conduct inspection of raw materials, in-process components, and finished castings.
• Identify and analyze casting defects such as Blow holes / Gas porosity, Shrinkage, Sand inclusion, Cold shut / Misrun, Crack, Mismatch, Hardness variation, Dimensional defects.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement effective Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Prepare and maintain Process Control Plans, Inspection Standards, Check Sheets, and Quality Records.
• Handle customer complaints and support timely 8D / problem-solving reports.
• Monitor and improve foundry process parameters related to melting, moulding, pouring, core making, fettling, and shot blasting.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Tool Room, NPD, and other departments for quality improvement.
• Conduct process audits, product audits, and layer/process inspections.
• Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards and customer-specific requirements.
• Support implementation of PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, and 7 QC Tools.
• Analyze rejection, rework, and customer-return data and drive reduction initiatives.
• Maintain quality documentation and support internal/customer audits.
• Train production and quality team members on quality standards and defect prevention.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Quality Engineer – Foundry with strong hands-on experience in CI (Cast Iron) Casting processes. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality, process control, defect prevention, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement across foundry operations.

Key Responsibilities
