Job summary

Yash Group of Industries is seeking a Quality Engineer to perform inspection of raw materials, in-process castings, and finished products. You will maintain quality records and coordinate with Production for QC adherence.

The role requires basic foundry quality knowledge, ability to read drawings, and proficiency with measuring instruments. It offers a shop-floor, shift-based work environment with training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Basic foundry quality knowledge.

• Familiarity with giving reports and documentation.
• Proficient in using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge).
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Quality Engineer – Job Description

Position:

Quality Engineer

Department:

Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Reports To:

Quality Manager / QA Head

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming raw material, in-process and finished castings.
• Perform dimensional, visual and surface inspection of castings.
• Maintain inspection reports and quality records.
• Coordinate with Production, Melting and Core Shop for quality control.
• Support customer and third-party inspections.
• Follow daily quality plans and inspection schedules.
• Identify defects and report non-conformances.
• Assist in trial runs and new product quality approvals.

Quality & Safety

• Ensure castings meet customer drawings and specifications.
• Follow PPE usage and shop-floor safety procedures.
• Support quality audits and safety training programs.

Cost & Efficiency

• Reduce rejection, rework and scrap.
• Support continuous improvement and lean quality practices.
• Ensure proper use of gauges and measuring instruments.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Basic knowledge of foundry quality processes.
• Ability to read drawings and inspection standards.
• Knowledge of measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, etc.).
• Basic reporting and documentation skills.
• Good communication and team coordination skills.

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma / B.E. Mechanical / Foundry Technology.
• 0 to 2 years experience in foundry quality operations.
• Basic understanding of casting defects and inspection techniques.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Range: ₹23,500 to ₹25,000 per month (Based on experience & skill)
