Job summary

FRIGATE is seeking a Quality Control – Machine Shop professional in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu to ensure CNC/VMC components meet drawings, tolerances, and customer quality requirements. You will inspect, verify CMM reports, and prepare PPAPs and quality records.

The role involves first-piece approval, calibration maintenance, non-conformance handling, and support for NPD trials and customer audits.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in Mechanical, Production, or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years in quality control and inspection of CNC/VMC machined components.
• Proficiency in GD&T, CMM report verification, PPAP, dimensional inspection, instrument handling, calibration, and root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, first-off, in-process, and finished machined components.
• Use precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore/height gauges, dial gauges) for measurements.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, customer specs and inspection plans.
• Verify CMM reports against drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements.
• Conduct first-piece approval and periodic CNC/VMC inspection.
• Prepare PPAPs, dimensional reports, control plans, FMEA inputs, and process documents.
• Maintain instrument calibration status and records.
• Raise non-conformance reports and coordinate corrective actions with Production.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.

Job Purpose

To ensure CNC/VMC components meet drawings, tolerances, and customer quality requirements through inspection, CMM report verification, PPAP, and quality documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, first-off, in-process, and finished machined components.
• Use vernier calipers, micrometers, bore/height gauges, dial gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, customer specifications, and inspection plans.
• Verify CMM reports against drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements.
• Conduct first-piece approval and periodic CNC/VMC inspection.
• Prepare PPAP, dimensional reports, control plans, FMEA inputs, process flow documents, and required quality records.
• Prepare/verify sample inspection reports, material test reports, and customer-specific documents as applicable.
• Handle and store instruments properly; monitor calibration status and records.
• Raise non-conformance reports and coordinate corrective actions with Production.
• Support root-cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and rejection reduction.
• Maintain traceability, inspection records, and document revision control.
• Support NPD trials, sample inspection, PPAP submission, and customer audits.
• Maintain independent inspection and product-release authority.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical, Production, or a relevant engineering discipline.

Experience:

3–5 years in quality control and inspection of CNC/VMC machined components.
