Job summary

Frigate Engineering Services is seeking a Quality Control – Machine Shop professional to ensure CNC/VMC components meet drawings, tolerances, and customer quality requirements through inspection and CMM report verification.

You will handle PPAP, dimensional reports, control plans, FMEA inputs, and quality documentation, while coordinating with Production on corrective actions and NCRs. Strong GD&T and calibration knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical, Production, or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in quality control and inspection of CNC/VMC machined components.
• Knowledge of GD&T, CMM report verification, PPAP, dimensional inspection, instrument handling, calibration and root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, first-off, in-process, and finished machined components.
• Use precision instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore/height gauges, and dial gauges.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, customer specifications, and inspection plans.
• Verify CMM reports against drawings, GD&T, and customer requirements.
• Conduct first-piece approval and periodic CNC/VMC inspection.
• Prepare PPAP, dimensional reports, control plans, FMEA inputs, process flow documents, and required quality records.
• Prepare/verify sample inspection reports, material test reports, and customer-specific documents as applicable.
• Handle and store instruments properly; monitor calibration status and records.
• Raise non-conformance reports and coordinate corrective actions with Production.
• Support root-cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and rejection reduction.
• Maintain traceability, inspection records, and document revision control.
• Support NPD trials, sample inspection, PPAP submission, and customer audits.
• Maintain independent inspection and product-release authority.
