Job summary

Jobitus is seeking a QC Engineer in Maharashtra to inspect raw forgings, in-process machined parts, and finished components per engineering drawings and customer specs. You will perform root-cause analysis, use precision measuring tools, and maintain quality documentation.

Responsibilities include first-off and final inspections, GD&T interpretation, defect identification, CAPA implementation, and coordination with production to prevent line stoppages.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–2 years of hands-on quality control experience in forging or precision machine shop.
• Familiar with GD&T and how to read complex drawings.
• Working knowledge of machining processes (Turning, Milling, Grinding, VMC/HMC).
• Familiarity with basic quality tools (7 QC Tools).

Responsibilities

• Incoming, in-process and final inspections for forged and CNC/VMC-machined parts.
• Read and interpret drawings and GD&T.
• Handle precision measuring instruments.
• Identify defects and perform RCA (5 Why / Fishbone).
• Prepare non-conformance reports and CAPA actions.
• Maintain inspection records and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with production and dispatch to prevent stoppages.

Job Summary

The QC Engineer will be responsible for inspecting raw forgings, in-process machined parts, and finished components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality standards. The role involves root-cause analysis, handling measuring instruments, and maintaining quality documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Incoming & In-Process Inspection: Perform first-off, in-process, and final quality checks for forged and CNC/VMC-machined components.
• Drawing & Tolerance Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical specifications.
• Instrument Handling: Use precision measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, and profile projectors.
• Defect Identification & RCA: Identify surface or dimensional defects in forged/machined parts and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) / 5Why / Fishbone analysis.
• Non-Conformance & CAPA: Prepare Rejection Reports, handle non-conforming materials (NCM/SCRAP/Rework), and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain Inspection Reports, Material Test Certificates (MTC), Dimensional Reports, and Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI) records.
• Shop Floor Coordination: Coordinate with production, tool room, and dispatch teams to resolve quality issues and prevent line stoppages.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years of hands-on quality control experience in a forging or precision machine shop environment.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • Understanding of hot/warm forging defects (e.g., laps, cracks, underfill, grain flow).
  • Working knowledge of machining processes (Turning, Milling, Grinding, VMC/HMC).
  • Familiarity with basic quality tools (7 QC Tools).
• Soft Skills: Good communication, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
