Job summary

Isgec Heavy Engineering in Dahej, Gujarat, seeks a Quality Control Inspector for skid packages, modular structures and piping assemblies. You will ensure compliance with drawings, ITPs, welding requirements and customer specifications through in-process and final inspections, NDT coordination and material traceability.

You will also manage NCRs, prepare inspection dossiers and liaise with client/TPI inspectors, with strong knowledge of ASME/API/ISO 9001 standards and the ability to read P&IDs,

Qualifications

• Experience in quality control for fabrication and welding.
• Knowledge of NDT coordination and metallurgical aspects.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and piping isometrics.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspection of skid packages, modular structures, and piping.
• Coordinate NDT activities and interpret test results.
• Ensure material traceability and review MTC/MTR.
• Maintain NCRs and inspection dossiers; coordinate with client/TPI inspectors.

Role & responsibilities

To carry out and coordinate Quality Control inspection activities for skid packages, modular structures, piping assemblies, structural fabrication, equipment supports, and related components, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, welding requirements, applicable codes, and customer requirements.

The role will be responsible for in-process and final inspection, welding and dimensional inspection, NDT coordination, material traceability, documentation, NCR control, and coordination with client/TPI inspectors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Incoming Material Inspection, Fabrication & Welding Inspection, Skid & Modular Structure Inspection, Piping Inspection, NDT Coordination, Dimensional Inspection, Inspection & Test Plan (ITP), Client / TPI Coordination, NCR & Quality Control and Documentation.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

The candidate should have good working knowledge of:

• Skid and modular fabrication.
• Structural steel fabrication.
• Piping fabrication and assembly.
• Welding inspection.
• NDT methods and NDT report interpretation.
• Engineering drawings and piping isometric drawings.
• P&IDs and line identification.
• Weld maps and weld traceability.
• WPS/PQR and welder qualification.
• ITP and inspection procedures.
• Dimensional inspection techniques.
• Material traceability.
• MTC/MTR review.
• NCR and corrective‑action processes.
• Quality documentation and inspection dossiers.

CODES & STANDARDS

Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the following will be preferred:

• ASME Section V NDT
• ASME Section VIII Pressure Vessels, where applicable
• ASME B31.3 Process Piping
• AWS D1.1 - Structural Welding
• ASTM standards applicable to inspection/NDT
• API standards, where applicable
• ISO 9001
• Project/client-specific specifications and standards.

Preferred Certifications

• NDT Level II - VT / PT / MT / UT / RT as applicable.
• Welding Inspection certification such as CSWIP/AWS-CWI will be an advantage.
• ISO 9001 Quality Management System knowledge/certification will be an advantage.
