Job summary

Hill International is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to oversee on-site quality for residential and high-rise projects in Mumbai. You will develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC plans, perform site inspections, material testing, and ensure compliance with codes and specifications.

The role requires 8–10 years of hands-on experience in real estate construction, strong coordination with consultants, and the ability to manage NCRs and handover documentation. This is an onsite, full-time opportunity.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in residential or high-rise building projects.
• Deep knowledge of finishing works, structural QA/QC processes, Non-Conformance Management, and local building codes.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent coordination skills, and a high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance & Planning.
• Review Good for Construction drawings, specs, and project plans to prevent rework.
• Assist in implementing the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and ITPs.
• Prepare checklists for formwork, reinforcement, concrete, masonry, and plastering.
• Site Quality Control & Inspections – civil, structural, finishing works.
• Establish QA/QC procedures, ITPs, checklists, and method statements.
• Oversee concrete works – slump checks, cube testing, results management.
• Check and verify incoming materials against submittals.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and surveillance.
• Raise IRs and coordinate walkdowns with consultants, architects, and clients.
• Documentation & Reporting – maintain quality records and NCRs.
• Prepare NCRs and SORs and track until correct.
• Compile handover documents and as-built verifications.

Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance & Planning
• Review 'Good for Construction' (GFC) drawings, specifications, and project plans to prevent rework and dimensional errors.
• Assist in the implementation of the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Prepare and implement checklists for various construction stages, such as formwork, steel reinforcement, concrete pouring, masonry, and plastering.
• Site Quality Control & Inspections
• Conduct daily inspections of civil, structural, and finishing works (waterproofing, tiling, flooring, painting, etc.).
• Establish QA/QC procedures, ITPs, checklists, and method statements specific to high-rise luxury construction.
• Oversee concrete works-monitor slump, prepare cube registers, and manage slump/cube testing results.
• Check and verify the quality of incoming materials against approved submittals before they are used on-site.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and surveillance
• Raise Inspection Requests (IRs) and coordinate walkdowns with consultants, architects, and clients.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including material testing checklists, calibration logs for testing equipment, and non-conformance reports.
• Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Site Observation Reports (SOR) for any deviations and track them until corrected.
• Compile handover documents, red-line drawings, and as-built drawing verifications.
